Well, I'm obviously an outlier, but I had a conversation with a co-worker about this at a place I quit at the very end of 2009. We talked about whether it would be worth buying or mining a bunch of Bitcoin, just in case, and concluded that it was a momentary hype that wasn't going to go anywhere. (iirc the conclusion was based on some mainstream magazine having an article about it, which we figured was peak exposure)
