yeah tbf on Graham Taylor he was probably much more actively anti-racist than Kieth will ever be.

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 10:23 (five years ago)

I assume the Graham Taylor reference is an obvious clue that this is fake news

Chickpeas, Scamps and Beeves (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 18 May 2021 11:27 (five years ago)

In the age of numerous entire seasons of 'All Or Nothing' fly-ons and the 2017 doc following the Corbyn-sceptic MPs it's an odd reference.

Basically why are they doing this now?

nashwan, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 12:03 (five years ago)

lol not to be citation needed but where did you find that info, calz?

it's in todays Times

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 12:26 (five years ago)

I don't think the Graham Taylor ref came from Starmer's office though

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 12:27 (five years ago)

The Tories will put in inadequate versions of socialist Lab policy while Lab go back to optics and means testing.

This, imo, is the real Long Corbyn effect. Just hilarious that its leading to the death of the Labour Party because they're too chickenshit to take advantage of the cultural shift.

glumdalclitch, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 13:03 (five years ago)

I look forward to some Graun writers acknowledging the real Long Corbynism and how chickenshit Labour decided to kill the party rather than campaign on popular Corbyn policies... well perhaps by about 2031

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 13:28 (five years ago)

The unit of time for how long it takes to realise the Gulf War was not just a mistake but a craven and foolish bid for power at the expense of millions of lives and decades of regional instability could be hereafter known as "1 Graun"

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 13:41 (five years ago)

Been reading bits of Pankaj Mishra's Bland Fanatics, it's horribly otm about q lot of this stuff, horribly because of the feeling of powerlessness to snap these idiots out of it

Chickpeas, Scamps and Beeves (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 18 May 2021 15:02 (five years ago)

I've been reading bits of Age Of Anger but haven't finished it - he's very good

Tracer Hand, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 15:05 (five years ago)

Can see the potential symbolic strengths of a Leadbeater candidacy in B&S byelection, but was intrigued to read she'd only recently joined Labour. The rulebook (Cap. 5, I.1.B.i) requires 12 months membership. Of course, the NEC's power is near absolute. https://t.co/htovReN1ul

a multitude of headaches brewing for Kieth on this Batley & Spen candidate, good job he's got his forensic powers because he sure will need them!

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 15:33 (five years ago)

potential candidate I meant

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 15:34 (five years ago)

she doesn't really believe in politics, she's of the opinion if there were no hard-left/hard-right and if moderate people like her could get a bigger audience to spout vacuous platitudes at about how everyone needs to be nicer to each, then everything would be grand.

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 16:02 (five years ago)

Join the fucking Liberals then.

Are Animated Dads Getting Hotter? (Tom D.), Tuesday, 18 May 2021 16:09 (five years ago)

if Kieth blocks her she might stand as an independent and do quite well, or if they break the rules to let her stand she does poorly it's all on him again!

calzino, Tuesday, 18 May 2021 16:14 (five years ago)

if you're not into politics maybe stay the fuck out of politics oh wait there's attention too

Chickpeas, Scamps and Beeves (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 18 May 2021 16:37 (five years ago)

I don't think Kieth will want a dilettante candidate and probably the Batley + S CLP won't either. Whoever the people are encouraging her to run really haven't thought it over very well and it seems a bit "off" to me. Brabin was quite a strong brand in the sense she had high recognition in the area and is slick, but not too overly slick and projects that aura of competence that is important to some people and is basically likable by politician standards. And she only just squeaked it in the Brexit election. Now it's a post-Brexit/easing of lockdown/total Tory hegemony byelection it's easy to imagine a few of the voting blocs in the area who would vote Tory or fash over Leadbeater without a 2nd thought.

I was just one m'fking number away from being able to buy my first ever house on last night's euromillions.

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 09:25 (five years ago)

god, Ashworth is such a fucking utterly disgusting human being if you saw someone glassing him in the head you'd be buying them a pint rather calling an ambulance

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 09:46 (five years ago)

probably harsh, but I could probably think of at least a dozen tories who are demonstrably more likable than him.

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 09:53 (five years ago)

To be fair, he is infinitesimally more likeable than his wife.

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 10:36 (five years ago)

Just despicable

Following numerous complaints about fast food delivery riders we conducted an operation in #tooting this afternoon with immigration enforcement.
In 90 mins we stopped
48 bikes.
2 were seized for no insurance
3 riders reported for offences
2 x arrests for immigration offences pic.twitter.com/nOOBMlY1Xl

fucking horrible, boasting about harassing key workers on poverty wages as they do their difficult and unrewarding work.

Wonder if the economy as a whole will just overheat and crash in 2022. Don't know if anyone is writing about that.

xyzzzz__, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 12:48 (five years ago)

it would have been just my luck that I'd have got that misplaced number in the right place last night and won £35 mil and after the Weimar hyperinflation I'd only be able to spend it all on pallets of rice and potatoes!

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 13:18 (five years ago)

Did you win anything eg. couple of hundred quid?

the thin blue lying (suzy), Wednesday, 19 May 2021 13:46 (five years ago)

£1,482.50

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 13:48 (five years ago)

shouldn't moan really but I was so close to being one rich m'fcker!

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 13:50 (five years ago)

I'd have shown up at one of your faps in my gold top hat!

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 13:56 (five years ago)

You just won £1400 in one go ?!?

the pinefox, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 14:16 (five years ago)

4 numbers and the two bonus numbers on euromillions and the odds of me ever getting that close to winning 35 mill, ever ever again in my lifetime are so astronomical there is probably little point ever playing it again!

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 14:22 (five years ago)

YSI?

boxedjoy, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 14:22 (five years ago)

oh Tantalus... you did a job on me last night!

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 14:27 (five years ago)

sorry anyway I'll stfu about it

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 14:33 (five years ago)

I never stick to the same numbers so it was just shit luck really, boxedjoy. just use your FP privileges if I post about this again today!

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 14:58 (five years ago)

a few weeks ago I thought I had won £5000 on a scratchcard and I was ECSTATIC and then the next morning I sobered up and realised that the two panels were part of two seperate games instead of one combined, the worst hangover I've ever had tbh

boxedjoy, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 15:04 (five years ago)

lol I did similar last year on a word scratch card, only I'd scratched the F and made it look like an E and I thought I had a grand + when I went to pick it up I was informed there was £3 on it!

calzino, Wednesday, 19 May 2021 15:07 (five years ago)
