I had a pastebin list of songs flagged as NSFW and it turned out it was due to the presence of "You're a Queer One" from the Carousel soundtrack.

Almost got to my hundred unranked.
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Friday, 14 May 2021 22:33 (five years ago)
ballot submitted! so weird (but fun) to compare the virtues of Stalker vs Jurassic Park
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Friday, 14 May 2021 22:47 (five years ago)
the zone: when you gotta go, you gotta go
― imago, Friday, 14 May 2021 23:04 (five years ago)
I have seen some jurassic park fan theories which go some way to bridging this gap
― A viking of frowns, (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:07 (five years ago)
a couple of things i would have voted for weren't nominated, but that's my fault!
house (Nobuhiko Ôbayashi, 1977)downfall (Oliver Hirschbiegel, 2004)
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:15 (five years ago)
House is there as Hausu, it'll be in my unranked 100
― ignore the blue line (or something), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:19 (five years ago)
oh shit! thank you! I will send an update to Eric and hope that it can count. I saw it for the first time recently and was blown away
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:23 (five years ago)
you can also vote for stuff that wasn't nominated
― A viking of frowns, (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:24 (five years ago)
and I don't know if it's inappropriate or unethical, but an illegal late voting-period shoutout to Hausu/House (1977), which is so cool
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:27 (five years ago)
I did email Eric to add Hausu/House, but not Downfall. tbh i'm in the middle of watching it today and i've got "i'm currently watching this and loving it" goggles on
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:28 (five years ago)
I just finished Ian Kershaw's Hitler biography and it (unsurprisingly) has all the scenes from Downfall in the penultimate chapter.
― A viking of frowns, (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:32 (five years ago)
do you know if the movie is supposed to be historically accurate? or does it take artistic liberties?
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:36 (five years ago)
I am thrilled this is still open! I thought I missed it months ago and was too scared to look. Will submit my ballot by the end of the weekend I hope.
― tangent x (tangenttangent), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:49 (five years ago)
how many ballots are there so far? if that info is declassified that is
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Friday, 14 May 2021 23:50 (five years ago)
I have to double check but I think it's in the 20-25 range.

I did.

Good thing I am not nearly as uptight about these things as I was several years ago.

Shot past one hundred now
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 15 May 2021 04:12 (five years ago)
when I really started thinking about it I had a hard time limiting it even to 25 + 100
― Dan S, Saturday, 15 May 2021 04:17 (five years ago)
Karl - Kershaw says the film is very accurate, see here- https://www.theguardian.com/film/2004/sep/17/germany

25 challenging because of course you are forced to leave something out but in addition may actually forget some favorite, +100 hard because want to get in some of the missing favorites from the 25 as well as cover Everything Else: other films by favorite directors, more obscure stuff, or even stuff by all the big directors you couldn’t single out any films for to make the top 25 etc.
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 15 May 2021 11:39 (five years ago)
To Catch a Thief no nominated?
― Deicide at Chuck E. Cheese (PBKR), Saturday, 15 May 2021 13:03 (five years ago)
You can vote for it, nominations were just suggestions.
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 15 May 2021 13:10 (five years ago)
gah I should do this eh
― So who you gonna call? The martini police (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 15 May 2021 13:18 (five years ago)
I saw it recently and got more out it than before. Still don’t think it is top-tier but it’s got some great things in it and some amusing backstory, especially the one about the highly regarded French actor who who couldn’t speak English and how they worked around this
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 15 May 2021 13:59 (five years ago)
OK, I'm working on this today. It took me an hour just to delete the ones I hadn't seen. I got to Showgirls and said a silent apology to Eric as I hit the Delete key.
― In my house are many Manchins (WmC), Saturday, 15 May 2021 16:25 (five years ago)
I tried not to look at that list at all if I could help it. In any case, I am usually much more motivated to vote in a poll with this kind of turnout.
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Saturday, 15 May 2021 17:31 (five years ago)
Ok i wasn't planning to do this (Morbius thought I didn't have the intellectual capacity to appreciate "The Master" because I said the Terrible Film Bridge Of Spies was a Terrible Film) but I might do it tomorrow just cus rewatching Svankmajer's Alice this deserves a number one vote from somebody, actually if I do this I'll put Stalker at 1, Alice at 2, fuck it I can definitely hit 25 with Lynch & Lynne Ramsey! Midnight Run top 10, Pain & Gain 23, Billy Liar 24, Georgy Girl 25. Kes 11. Fuck I'll prolly forget to do this. Manhunter 4ish. Dammit I'll do 25 tomorrow I promise but not the 100
― Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Saturday, 15 May 2021 22:30 (five years ago)
("The Master" there being Spielberg, not "The Master" the film which dammit just occured to me is the 14th best film of all time, Georgy Girl getting bumped off the bottom)
― Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Saturday, 15 May 2021 22:32 (five years ago)
Was gonna say if Morbs was a fan of that PTA movie, it would've been news to me.
― i carry the torch for disco inauthenticity (Eric H.), Saturday, 15 May 2021 22:36 (five years ago)
we have already pieced together important fragments of the j.h. mumble ballot
― parenthetically yours, (Karl Malone), Saturday, 15 May 2021 23:50 (five years ago)
I’ve been trying to imagine the final entry in your countdown, Eric. Given your restriction to one film per director, so far there is still no Visconti, Tarkovsky, Fellini, Herzog, Scorcese, Wong, Truffaut, Chaplin, Ophuls, Wilder, Leone, Malick, or Satyajit Ray, among others. I have a couple of guesses but wouldn’t be surprised to be wildly off
― Dan S, Saturday, 15 May 2021 23:51 (five years ago)
Don't bump Georgy Girl!
― clemenza, Saturday, 15 May 2021 23:53 (five years ago)
Oh, Eric's countdown?
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 16 May 2021 00:05 (five years ago)
So, in preparing a ballot for an online movie poll, I concurrently revised my #Top100Movies list, so time for another daily countdown! Unlike last time, I limited myself to one film per director in this version. Here we go:100. hope it's ok for me to post that. you have to keep clicking show replies to see the whole list
― Dan S, Sunday, 16 May 2021 00:13 (five years ago)
Oh, you put it there too. As you know, I have been paying some attention on another venue.
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 16 May 2021 00:24 (five years ago)
I’m pretty sure Eric’s #1 won’t be a Scorsese.
― edited for dog profanity (cryptosicko), Sunday, 16 May 2021 00:27 (five years ago)
no :)
― Dan S, Sunday, 16 May 2021 00:29 (five years ago)
my choice for his #1 would be In the Mood for Love, and my second choice would be a Tarkovsky film of which there are many to choose from
― Dan S, Sunday, 16 May 2021 00:41 (five years ago)
I didn't vote for it, but nice to see someone else remembers Crime Wave. I sat by John Paizs at Cinematheque Ontario once while he was talking to someone about his filmmaking plans (and promptly forgot all details except "I sat by John Paizs").
― Halfway there but for you, Sunday, 16 May 2021 01:06 (five years ago)
The Master isn’t even top-tier PTA, let alone better than Georgy Girl(it is excellent obv)
― bobo honkin' slobo babe (sic), Sunday, 16 May 2021 02:07 (five years ago)
FINE, Georgy Girl made 25, in fact I just stuck to those arbritray numbers I threw out last night and filled in the other spots with some other stuff. Giving this too much thought would be THE PATH TO MADNESS, so I messaged My Brother and asked him the 3rd best film of all time, then put that at 3. One entry per director, yeahyeahyeah I've missed plenty but it's a list of 25 awesome films.
(The Master is at 14, FIGHT ME)
― Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Sunday, 16 May 2021 20:56 (five years ago)
Almost done with my plus 100...or am I?
― Working in the POLL Mine (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 16 May 2021 20:58 (five years ago)
dammit forgot Satoshi Kon. Also Bladerunner, but I ain't going back now I will live or die by this list
― Jonathan Hellion Mumble, Sunday, 16 May 2021 21:09 (five years ago)
These list are not etched in stone or even scratched on film for eternity, they are merely time-wise cross sections. So it goes.
