It's been there a long time. It's a fratty/sorority kinda bar on the same corner as the Pilot Light...that actual corner is taken up by Hanna's "patio", which is walled in concrete. Maybe you remember it now?

over christmas my friend josh actually made some people move from a booth at manhattan's because 15 years ago that booth was "his"

his did it very charmingly

p.s. roxy can't come out this month but still hoping in the near future! hopefully sometime when people in shops will say "happy holiday" to me to confuse the hell out of me.

from observation and the experiences of various of my friends, i'd say the hard part is not opening a shop, it's keeping it open. the old city in particular is a mercantile bermuda triangle. (all the more reason to respect jason and the pilot light crew.)

if i can open a shop there i reckon it'd be so good it'd stay open.

I've got some old friends in Knoxville. The Pilot Light is the best rock club I've ever played at. The unflappable bartender was playing some of my all time favorite vinyl sides (Tyrannosaurus Rex, Hawkwind, PETER GREEN'S Fleetwood Mac) and I had to tell him how happy it made me. He just stared back at me without saying a word. I'm missing Tennessee in autumn.

I played with Jerusalem and The Starbaskets at the Pilot Light waaay back in 2004 (I think?). I'm not in any band now. I'm an ooooold friend of Brad C that played bass in Dixie Dirt. He actually did a solo thing that night at the Pilot Light that was really good. I think he works at Barleys lol.

that is awesome, casino! october is famously beautiful in these parts. it's perhaps not as lovely as that, but I still love knoxville in the winter, especially south of the river.
