Judging by the avidity with which disapproving people get outraged about stupid clickbait, I must conclude that such outrage gives their lives a frisson of excitement they value quite highly. Providing them with stupid clickbait upon which to vent their splenetic fury therefore performs a valuable public service which should be recognized and celebrated.

OK, fine -- the tweet hurt my feelings, I said in a thread explicitly marked as the place to express rational/irrational fears that it hurt my feelings, apparently I am either a stupid person who falls for clickbait or a disapproving ninny avidly looking for something to get outraged about? Hey, eeph, I didn't mean for that to reflect on you and I apologize! I meant, as someone who also has actually had a really high quality of life despite everything this year, that it's a strawman argument in the first place--if you care about mental health, we could just FUND MENTAL HEALTH or healthcare or meet people's needs or WHATEVER. The whole "some people are unwell because they were okay staying in" framework feels to me like the "cowering in basements" wording, ie "You can't just cower in fear in the basement, we have to get the economy started and not give into the virus!" It's just dumbass shit.

got my first dose (of moderna) this weekend and my main takeaway is you really don't realize how much you use your left (or non-dominant) arm. didn't get the horrible sickness others mentioned though.

my daughter got her second dose of Pfizer on Wednesday and blacked out and fell in her dorm room 18 hours later. says shed thinks she might have broken a couple toes. be careful!

Got my 2nd dose of Pfizer on a Thursday and was laid up the next day. Pretty bad fatigue and some aches. Feeling good today.

I know second doses tend to have more side effects but having had my first Pfizer yesterday morning and zero adverse reaction I wonder if that bodes well for the second too.

I had no side effects other than cottonmouth. There's no logic or trend I can point to.

I got Moderna dose 1 this past Wednesday. Was fine until 4am Friday morning when I woke w horrific migraine-like headache and felt fatigued/nauseated for most of Friday. By Sat morning it had passed completely. Idk what it means for dose 2 but I’m not working Thurs/Fri atm so I can convalesce if I need to.

My elderly parents had Pfizer and had no noteworthy side effects at all. Again idk what it means but even if you get the vax & feel supershitty , it’ll pass.

I get dose 2 of Moderna on Tuesday. I had modest symptoms after the first dose, but that may be because I had antibodies already. In theory, or at least anecdotally, that would mean that there should be fewer side effects for dose 2, but I guess I'll find out.

My daughter had no side efforts from dose one of Pfizer aside from a sore arm.

i had dose one (pfizer) on monday and all day tuesday it felt like someone really went to town on my arm, and at some point in the afternoon i started getting a fuzzy headache and i thought "uh oh here we go" but it passed after an hour or so and by the next day my arm was fine

i am expecting dose 2 will knock me on my ass for the maximum amount of time

my missus with MS still doesn't know what vaccine she had because they never give her a card afterwards. But she fell on the the floor about 3 times in the health centre en-route to getting it so that might have distracted them. I presume it was Pfizer because that is what I got a couple of weeks before her at the same venue. The next day she was absolutely gone, struggling to even physically get of bed the next morning and slept all day.

Yeah you don't really get to experiment and see what vaccine combo really suits you. I mean you'd think you'd get the choice. Cocktails even.
What happens if you need booster jabs are you constantly stuck with the same thing you got the first time. You could be missing out on the jab experience of your lifetime. Something you were really compatible with.

Pfizer before Moderna, we tried to warn ya.

feel fine after dose 1 of moderna but had a mild allergic reaction about 45 minutes after - swollen throat, numb/tingling lips. nothing benadryl couldn't take care of, but the CDC says if you have a reaction within 4 hours you shouldn't get the second dose.

though i could still hypothetically get a J&J dose apparently

getting my shot in a couple of days, could be any of the 3 US vaccines depending on what they have that time, kinda hoping for J&J just for the downmarket instant gratification vibes

Do you wind up having to stick with the same vaccine that you got first. Like if you do need to get further jabs later do you have enforced brand loyalty.
Like everybody who is reading this 6 months down the line can you let me know now if that is a thing. Hate to find out I've been frozen out of finding my ideal arm mate by the first one that came along.
