One thing I've learned is that Mexico has a very large number of small to medium-sized cities that are extensively mapped on Google Streetview. This may or may not be relevant to the picture in question.

The sign on the right is impossible to fully decipher but it looks like a muster or meeting point with a three word phrase with 'di' or 'de' in the middle, google translate gives punto de reunión in spanish which looks like a good fit but could be italian or portuguese or similar.

Trying to decipher the street name that has been obscured in the first pic. The last two letters of the first word look like "da" and the first letter of the second word is "A", if that's any help. Don't think it's "Avenue", though, but I could be wrong.
