ha, if you keep pressing forward the Google car continues right down the middle of the road for ages

Black Sea was just intuition, maybe east balkan, maybe caucasia. Then that doesn't actually leave many possible cities, Tbilisi was third on my maybe list. Looked a good fit from streetviewing but had the new looking apartment building on the right suggested maybe not old town - then as CaAL points out, there's not actually a ton of streetviews available for Tbilisi anyway so I figured I'd have a good shot of finding it

That might have sent me the wrong way but I know they have EU style plates in other non EU countries like Serbia

I have to second the bafflement at how easy some of you guys get this, without being natives or having seen the actual street in question on your travels. All I know is if something looks "USA or Canada" or "Not USA or Canada".

BTW the Tbilisi scene is not by google but by the "National Agency of Public Registry" which sounds a bit sinister.

It looks like it could be a cemetery, and cats in cemeteries always make me think Paris, but the bench doesn’t look like Pere Lachaise.

yeah cats in a cemetery always makes me think of la recoleta first, though cats in a cemetery seems to be a common thing. ive never been to buenos aires incidentally, but i did plan a solo trip there many moons ago, and have read up on the city a bit

It’s Warsaw University of Technology which was damaged in the war and restored in the fifties, I think, with a glass roof added later.
