searching on red volvo ev bus got me to this page which matched the exact model in the OP:

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Sunday, 21 March 2021 01:12 (five years ago)

Zaragoza it is - though I wondered if someone would get there via the letter Z shown on the front of the bus

cherry blossom, Sunday, 21 March 2021 08:00 (five years ago)

Not that I noticed the Z on the front either at first

cherry blossom, Sunday, 21 March 2021 08:03 (five years ago)

Great work Albert R. Broccoli. My ideas were miles out on that one.

brain (krakow), Sunday, 21 March 2021 11:13 (five years ago)

Brutalist edition.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 March 2021 12:56 (five years ago)

Murmansk, Russia

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:18 (five years ago)

Not Murmansk.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:21 (five years ago)

This is a hard one so I’ll say the building is by someone notable.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:22 (five years ago)

Looks a little dusty for murmansk

cherry blossom, Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:38 (five years ago)

Ahmedabad? Probably a bit of a wildly wrong random guess here, but that is where google image search algorithm sent me and it looks a *bit* architecturally similar to a part of the business school there!

calzino, Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:54 (five years ago)

Correct! It’s the student dorm by Louis Kahn.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:57 (five years ago)

bloody hell!

calzino, Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:58 (five years ago)

god dammit

treeship., Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:58 (five years ago)

i was about to guess chandigarh, india

treeship., Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:58 (five years ago)

it's a beautiful building.

calzino, Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:58 (five years ago)

i don't actually understand how you guys do this.

treeship., Sunday, 21 March 2021 16:59 (five years ago)

no point asking me it's first one I've ever got right.

calzino, Sunday, 21 March 2021 17:00 (five years ago)

Is that where Bin Laden got his?

Duncan Disorderly (Tom D.), Sunday, 21 March 2021 17:08 (five years ago)

Oh, that was the curiously named Abbottabad!

Duncan Disorderly (Tom D.), Sunday, 21 March 2021 17:09 (five years ago)

I was going to say: that looks like a Kahn building, and it looks like a university campus.

monday

cherry blossom, Monday, 22 March 2021 21:12 (five years ago)

Boston? Somewhere on the T I should think.

Canon in Deez (silby), Monday, 22 March 2021 21:24 (five years ago)

it's definitely some sort of subway wayfinding graphic decal on the entry doors to the installation on the right and it looks T-ish to me

Canon in Deez (silby), Monday, 22 March 2021 21:25 (five years ago)

Looks like it could be almost any American city that has some underground rail near a big parking garage, ie. most of them.

o. nate, Monday, 22 March 2021 22:16 (five years ago)

Multiple pedestrian signals + protected cycling infrastructure makes me think this is not just *any* American city (though the 9 story parking garage next to the transit center seems kinda suburban or urban-suburban?)

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Monday, 22 March 2021 22:35 (five years ago)

Boston?

calzino, Monday, 22 March 2021 22:38 (five years ago)

That’s what I said!

Canon in Deez (silby), Monday, 22 March 2021 22:40 (five years ago)

Going a very different direction here but...

Taipei City?

nashwan, Monday, 22 March 2021 22:40 (five years ago)

Leeds

calzino, Monday, 22 March 2021 22:48 (five years ago)

that's a us no parking sign. looks like forsythia about to bloom - google says it's in growing zones 5-9, doesn't narrow it down too much except it's not the far north. something about the size and spacing of the buildings suggests not-the-east-coast to me. brown leaves in the gutters. could be anywhere. columbus? indianapolis? omaha?

John Cooper of Christian rock band Skillet (map), Monday, 22 March 2021 23:05 (five years ago)

There is something odd about the bike lane stencil, notably the wheels.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Monday, 22 March 2021 23:09 (five years ago)

Alaska?

reggae mike love (polyphonic), Monday, 22 March 2021 23:11 (five years ago)

My only clue was that the silver car’s license plate could be New York

rob, Monday, 22 March 2021 23:16 (five years ago)

so little to go on here, but the sign in front of the blue pole looks pretty distinctive

Bastard Lakes (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Monday, 22 March 2021 23:27 (five years ago)

I don't think I'm right, but this reminds me of when I was in Baltimore.

hourspass, Monday, 22 March 2021 23:29 (five years ago)

There's a blue A on those doors. Those bike stencils are definitely in use in California, probably elsewhere too though.

the walk/don't walk lights are distinct.

Finally. I just visited for the first time in February.

treeship., Tuesday, 23 March 2021 20:57 (five years ago)

you aren't allowed to start swaggering till you nail an obscure one that isn't in your own country 😉

This is my proudest day on ilx

Lol

treeship., Tuesday, 23 March 2021 21:11 (five years ago)

i don't actually understand how you guys do this.

cherry blossom, Tuesday, 23 March 2021 21:15 (five years ago)

In this case, I recently saw that building in person and remembered it. Sometimes it seems people use different techniques than this.

treeship., Tuesday, 23 March 2021 21:17 (five years ago)

that's not forsythia, it's a tree :|
