makes it easier for me that films beyond the top 25 are unranked

Dan S, Sunday, 14 March 2021 23:04 (five years ago)

just hard to decide what to include in the top 25

Dan S, Sunday, 14 March 2021 23:05 (five years ago)

Yeah it stings to cut it down to say 40 and then 25, and let the spare 15 sink down into the rest.

Andrew Farrell, Sunday, 14 March 2021 23:11 (five years ago)

Eric, did you get my ballot this time? I sent it on March 6.

Cherish, Monday, 15 March 2021 00:40 (five years ago)

i voted. i voted.

wasdnuos (abanana), Monday, 15 March 2021 02:03 (five years ago)

sent my list in

Dan S, Monday, 15 March 2021 03:15 (five years ago)

Voting now

flappy bird, Monday, 15 March 2021 04:39 (five years ago)

I did, Cherish!

Sorry, I've been out of pocket these last few days, but I'll work on getting all of those ballots added and the master list updated.

may I still send one, hun?

So who you gonna call? The martini police (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 16:47 (five years ago)

Of course; I am seriously not closing this until April, at this rate.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 17:03 (five years ago)

can i resubmit if i see anything lifechanging before april

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 17:39 (five years ago)

Absolutely. I welcome revisions.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 17:40 (five years ago)

hell yeah, i finally feel up to my long-planned morbs memorial watch of the searchers

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Tuesday, 16 March 2021 17:42 (five years ago)

I've been baptized, Reverend, I've been baptized!

The Ballad of Mel Cooley (James Redd and the Blecchs), Wednesday, 17 March 2021 04:12 (five years ago)

sent my ballot just now. the searchers is up there in the rankings for me. it's been ages since i've seen it—would like to re-watch if/when that happens :)

davey, Friday, 19 March 2021 12:07 (five years ago)

What was morbs fave film?

Oor Neechy, Friday, 19 March 2021 12:30 (five years ago)

The Waterboy iirc

So who you gonna call? The martini police (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 19 March 2021 12:45 (five years ago)

Directed by Jerry Lewis, yeah

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Friday, 19 March 2021 14:48 (five years ago)

does it matter which one of the duplicates shows up on a ballot? sometimes vote counters on here are specific about that and just wonderin

billstevejim, Friday, 19 March 2021 14:55 (five years ago)

When I enter them in, the master sheet is alphabetically organized, so if there's a double, I'll see it.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Friday, 19 March 2021 17:58 (five years ago)

Almost all of the doubles mentioned upthread were Morbs ballot additions that I added at the last minute (minus Robot Monster), and most of them have been dealt with.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Friday, 19 March 2021 18:05 (five years ago)

HI DERE. Awaking from my slumber.

The Ballad of Mel Cooley (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 21 March 2021 21:43 (five years ago)

Nice, Cesare

idgi

The Ballad of Mel Cooley (James Redd and the Blecchs), Monday, 22 March 2021 10:03 (five years ago)

Redos, right? I forgot a necessary Spike Lee movie, among others.

flappy bird, Thursday, 25 March 2021 08:00 (five years ago)

Yup! Feel free to submit revisions.

Also, as a reminder to everyone, please indicate your ILX username with your submitted ballot.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Thursday, 25 March 2021 12:35 (five years ago)

Is it too late to submit something?

Dan Worsley, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 16:57 (five years ago)

Not at all. This poll remains an open-ended prospect indefinitely, but it's feeling increasingly likely that I won't actually close it until the end of spring or thereabouts.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 16:59 (five years ago)

Got a day off tomorrow, will try and put a list, 10-12 should be my submission

xyzzzz__, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 17:34 (five years ago)

So out curiosity, what criteria are people using in putting ballots together? There's the old "favorite" vs. "best" conundrum, but also are folks deliberately aiming for, say, diversity across decades, nationalities, etc, or just, like, listing every Judd Apatow movie?

a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony (tipsy mothra), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 17:47 (five years ago)

I always list favourites, don't even think about what's important. I dropped a few old ones I've seen way too many times and replaced them with stuff I've come to love within the past five years.

clemenza, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:04 (five years ago)

Yeah. Worry about self-pleausure in every sense.

So who you gonna call? The martini police (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:05 (five years ago)

I tried to do a personal list, too. Hopefully this doesn't mean there is no consensus!

Halfway there but for you, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:17 (five years ago)

Another reason I'm waiting to collate (other than my work life just being insane lately) is so that we don't just have a series of 12-way ties, if at all possible. Only getting in excess of 25-30 ballots will hopefully ensure that won't happen.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:18 (five years ago)

OK, long weekend coming up so will try to get something done then.

Dan Worsley, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:22 (five years ago)

mandatory voting for all ILXors imo

davey, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:31 (five years ago)

Well, at least anyone whose movie taste was chided as moronic by Morbs.

avatar of a kind of respectability homosexual culture (Eric H.), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:39 (five years ago)

that's pretty much everyone if i'm not mistaken

davey, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:42 (five years ago)

or maybe not, but i'm definitely in that set

davey, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:45 (five years ago)

Wish Morbs was here so I could argue with him about Intolerance.

Bastard Lakes (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 18:47 (five years ago)

When I was creating my ballot I was constantly thinking “this would enrage morbs”

FRAUDULENT STEAKS (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 19:22 (five years ago)

I am just going to rank the films of David lynch and send that in

jammy mcnullity (wins), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 19:29 (five years ago)

if this doesn't get 25 voters i'll change all my votes to french clown movies

wasdnuos (abanana), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 19:39 (five years ago)

I am just going to rank the films of David lynch and send that in

― jammy mcnullity (wins),

Adoration of the Mogwai (Deflatormouse), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 20:32 (five years ago)

I could limit myself to movies with talking animals and animate objects.

Adoration of the Mogwai (Deflatormouse), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 20:55 (five years ago)

*and/or
let's not get carried away.

Adoration of the Mogwai (Deflatormouse), Wednesday, 31 March 2021 20:56 (five years ago)

My criteria were "would I sit down and rewatch this tonight?"

Andrew Farrell, Wednesday, 31 March 2021 21:35 (five years ago)

Just sent mine

Alba, Thursday, 1 April 2021 01:03 (five years ago)

davey, Thursday, 1 April 2021 05:10 (five years ago)
