I was a long way out on this, I'd got it into my head the second photo was Monterrey Argentina but that the first photo wasn't. Saw the third photo and abandoned any notions of south americ

The incongruous penguin and friends should have been more of a giveaway it wasn't South America

when I google "yellow church" there is one in Macau but it's another one alltogether :-)

Lol I was thinking the estuary and skyline looked like Liverpool, the Mersey and the Wirral from Everton valley if you squint hard enough

I was looking at the river (bay?) and what appears to be a big inlet or tributary - maybe even a massive canal going through the middle of town and I started thinking about one of the ports along the Rhine but I think the Rhine is probably too narrow. Hamburg?

As usual I feel I'd have a better chance if I could see some church towers.

it looks Nordic and/or Baltic to me, but I don't think the layout is that of Hamburg. Helsinki perhaps?

Is it Dnipro, Ukraine? I can't find the exact view from that angle, but some bridges and buildings look very suggestive of being in the right place.

i've tried the mid-atlantic seaboard in the u.s. and some baltic cities. can't find anything that looks that bright / new lol. feel like it's gotta be a somewhat major shipping port (river adjacent to large body of water?) with those bridges.
