I love her!

Dr.C, Monday, 30 April 2007 16:13 (nineteen years ago)

I fear you're too late (I used to love her too, in Alan Partridge, sigh).

Mark C, Monday, 30 April 2007 16:15 (nineteen years ago)

note: no one asked who ROBERT DE NIRO is

Dr Morbius, Monday, 30 April 2007 16:16 (nineteen years ago)

My dad did, once, when he met him. Well, he came home and told us he'd met some American actor called Robert De Niro and had we heard of him because apparently he's quite famous?

stevienixed, Monday, 30 April 2007 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

Last weekend in London - Louis Theroux cycling up Oxford Street, Peter Bowles in Covent Garden, an obscure British actor called Milton Johns also in Covent Garden, Jack Davenport and Jenny Agutter in Soho (not together).

And about 3 minutes after arriving back in Cardiff, saw Stuart Cable!

nate woolls, Monday, 30 April 2007 17:47 (nineteen years ago)

Milton Johns is in the middle in this photo:

MikeyH, Thursday, 17 May 2007 17:01 (nineteen years ago)

Walter Smith outside Ibrox. Shunsuke Nakamura outside Celtic Park.

acrobat, Thursday, 17 May 2007 19:30 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, I nearly forgot: Maggie Gyllenhall, Peter Saarsgaard, and some older woman, walking in Soho; Maggie and the older woman sat down on a bench to talk, while Saarsgaard was sent into a store to fetch Maggie some frozen yogurt.

P.S. Maggie G is evidently the sort of celebrity who looks 1000x times BETTER in person than in any film she's ever done.

nabisco, Thursday, 17 May 2007 19:37 (nineteen years ago)

I see Ben Folds a lot (and usually resist the urge to throw things at him). The last time, when my mother was in town, he opened the door for her as we were exiting a restaurant. She greeted him with buoyant "Why, thank you!" and he looked confused and midly frightened. She didn't know who he was. She was just being her regular friendly self.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 17 May 2007 19:38 (nineteen years ago)

Why would you want to throw things at Ben Folds? Even if you don't like his music, he seems like a hard guy to hate.

(Wait, you don't look like Axl Rose, do you?)

nabisco, Thursday, 17 May 2007 19:56 (nineteen years ago)

nabisco, I do, actually. Spitting image.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 17 May 2007 19:57 (nineteen years ago)

Good lord, I'm making mid-90s Ben Folds lyric-reference jokes, someone help

nabisco, Thursday, 17 May 2007 20:03 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Steve Buscemi chilling at some Village cafe looking exactly like Steve Buscemi.

sexyDancer, Thursday, 17 May 2007 20:05 (nineteen years ago)

xpost - nabisco, for me, lyrics like that create an urge to throw small objects. I met this girl... oh sweet jesus. Now it's stuck in my head.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 17 May 2007 20:09 (nineteen years ago)

two weeks pass...

Forgot to catch up on my posting here...

Cybill Shepherd at the Charles Phoenix show at the John Anson Ford Theater.
Rob Corddry at The Grove
David Spade at The Grove later on
Ryan Gosling at the corner of 4th and Hope downtown.

Elvis Telecom, Friday, 1 June 2007 07:27 (nineteen years ago)

I saw James Nesbitt on Berwick St last week.

Colonel Poo, Friday, 1 June 2007 11:55 (nineteen years ago)

Bill Nighy (again). Kentish Town. Standing by a dustbin separating the Family, Travel, Money sections from his Sunday papers before binning them like the rest of us do.

Tom D., Monday, 11 June 2007 10:27 (nineteen years ago)

Dane Bowers at Casablanca's in Brighton. Drinking £1 tequila shots and being fawned over by plastic blondes. Cock.

Interestingly (or not) a friend of mine once saw another of Jordan's hole-fillers Dwight Yorke being refused entry to the same place. Gareth Gates for the set.

Uptoeleven, Monday, 11 June 2007 10:38 (nineteen years ago)

that's not nice

RJG, Monday, 11 June 2007 10:41 (nineteen years ago)

Jeremy Vine + family on Drury Lane, Sunday morning, carrying lots of newspapers.

ailsa, Monday, 11 June 2007 18:24 (nineteen years ago)

(uncorroborated sighting of Jo Whiley on same bit of street five minutes before, but I wasn't looking out the window at the time, so only have a "I think Jo Whiley just walked past the window" bit of hearsay to go on there)

ailsa, Monday, 11 June 2007 18:27 (nineteen years ago)

jonathan frakes at my work last night

jergïns, Monday, 11 June 2007 18:55 (nineteen years ago)

three weeks pass...

mariska hartigay next to me at the playground while we were both pushing our sons on the swingset. i had no idea it was her until my wife pointed it out. i guess her son was having a birthday party there. i got to hear her talk to a friend about her son's eating habits for about 4 minutes. my failure to take notes pretty much dooms my celebrity-reporting career.

tipsy mothra, Sunday, 8 July 2007 23:57 (eighteen years ago)

oh also andy rooney apparently lives around the block from us. we can see the back of his building out the back of ours. i have not sighted him, but my wife has. she said he made grandfatherly smiley faces at our kid.

tipsy mothra, Sunday, 8 July 2007 23:58 (eighteen years ago)

I just made a complete tit of myself in front of Dave Chapelle, whose polaroid is up in Peets' Coffee as "customer of the week". My boss and I stood there talking loudly about DAVE CHAPELLE and I WONDER IF HE COMES HERE EVERY DAY when none other than...DAVE CHAPELLE got up from a table in the corner and bolted out the door. I hope I didn't make him run away to Africa.

admrl, Monday, 9 July 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

That one guy that hit it and quit it, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

We did a night at a small club/bar where she had been two weeks before (so I don't think she came just for us!). She is very pleasant.

Spencer Chow, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

I think I saw Matthew McConaughey when I was jogging thru downtown Asheville on Sunday. I was running; no time for double-takes. But this town gets occasional celebrities in the summer.

wanko ergo sum, Tuesday, 10 July 2007 21:58 (eighteen years ago)
