Souness going in so hard on bale after this match that im actually googling to make sure he is still white

beware the ídes of mairt (darraghmac), Sunday, 7 March 2021 21:27 (three years ago) link

This is possibly the perfect Leeds performance in the first half - having a goal ruled out for being 2mm offside and then immediately conceding two due to catastrophic defending.

Wilder gone

I reckon the letter's dated 15 November and it got lost in the post

carrying that downward momentum from a disastrous Prem season into the Championship with the same manager rarely seems a good idea. Although Norwich seem to have bucked that trend in good style this season, but the manager didn't fall out with the owners and lose the dressing room.

calzino, Friday, 12 March 2021 11:41 (three years ago) link

The owners seem to have had a huge amount of patience with him. aiui, they tried to introduce a new DOF position after Wilder spent £90m on Brewster, Berger, McBurnie, Ramsdale and Mousset, and he objected.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Friday, 12 March 2021 11:53 (three years ago) link

Sheffield United have not sacked Chris Wilder, sources indicate. Clearly a fast-moving situation & may change soon, but as things stand he remains a SUFC employee. More @TeleFootball

‘Dwight McNeil golazo’ is something I hadn’t anticipated needing to type.

Burnley are killing Everton.

this is a glorious mullering

caek to thread pls

imago, Sunday, 14 March 2021 15:48 (three years ago) link

bananaman prolly just radge at the prospect of more A23 derbies next season, which would be quite odd tbf as they're usually guaranteed 4 points from them

imago, Sunday, 14 March 2021 15:53 (three years ago) link

"gammon" is an unfair slur on a club from a cosmopolitan city with a proper theatre and stuff, especially as it looks like the real gammon club are going to remain in the prem again with a little help from their friends!

calzino, Sunday, 14 March 2021 16:08 (three years ago) link

I can't stand Wednesday myself, but we usually insult them as "The Massive" because their fans have often been as big-club delusional as that lot up the road.

calzino, Sunday, 14 March 2021 16:30 (three years ago) link

This is an alarming start from Spurs.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 14 March 2021 16:46 (three years ago) link

Its not untidy tbh its just very passive

Marry and Neghim (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 March 2021 16:54 (three years ago) link

Rabona!

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:03 (three years ago) link

that sounded entertaining

He absolutely doesn’t want to use his right foot for anything other than balance.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:03 (three years ago) link

was just reflecting on his previous rabona goal

imago, Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:03 (three years ago) link

was quite the move, featuring an extremely lengthy moura run where he was fouled about 3 times

imago, Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:04 (three years ago) link

Sick goal.

cajunsunday, Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:05 (three years ago) link

Clinton and the radio commentator just spent two minutes struggling to remember the word "rabona"

scamp til you're damp (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:05 (three years ago) link

moura dribble, raking bale crossfield, volleyed reguilon cross, rabona nutmeg finish

Erotic

imago, Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:07 (three years ago) link

Feeling like we should be two down tbh

Marry and Neghim (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:08 (three years ago) link

strongly doubt this is the final scoreline

scamp til you're damp (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:09 (three years ago) link

Doherty has been abysmal.

Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:15 (three years ago) link

was just gonna say exactly that

imago, Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:16 (three years ago) link

you'd think Mou would've stopped playing him in a defensive position by now

scamp til you're damp (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:17 (three years ago) link

martin tyler literally losing his concept of time

imago, Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:18 (three years ago) link

Its the players around doherty giving him no chance also tbh

Spurs centre halves defending crosses without reference to the opposition players consistently confuses me.

What do they think would happen to a cross if they marked the men trying to score from it, i wonder

Marry and Neghim (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:23 (three years ago) link

Its a very very curious trait, really. The "we dont mark" approach.

I wonder when it will start to work.

Marry and Neghim (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 March 2021 17:54 (three years ago) link

Hojbjerg has sidefooted it to arsenal players all game

Not a great platform that

Marry and Neghim (darraghmac), Sunday, 14 March 2021 18:22 (three years ago) link

Sheff Utd have always had a strong whiff of gammon to me, more so than Wednesday, or other yorkshire teams apart from the obvious. Probably the Warnock connection, then the reaction of many of their fans to the Evans case, added to by Wilder's bizarre recent ramblings. But maybe it's just an unfair personal prejudice, as are the rest of my opinions on football clubs.

"gammon" is an unfair slur on a club from a cosmopolitan city with a proper theatre and stuff,

As a native londoner(ish), I have to let out a condescending bastard patrician chuckle at 'a' proper theatre. Also, check where Millwall play.

ukania west (Bananaman Begins), Monday, 15 March 2021 09:40 (three years ago) link

I feel like Burnley are the whole gammon club like a gammon stick of rock. That time their fans looked like befuddled 18th century time travellers dispersing from Wembley. The time their fans gave a supportive ovation to an ex-player against Brighton who was in trouble for racially abusing another player. The time they tried to do stats based moneyball with a commodore 64 and computer told them Brian Laws was the best manager outside the prem. Ah you know all the rest!

calzino, Monday, 15 March 2021 09:53 (three years ago) link

OTM.
