I clicked on a, well, clickbait article whose headline was something like "what if Monica's engineer friend is not Reed Richards but someone even better!" What can I say, I found that headline really enticing, but lol at the reveal of a character I've literally never heard of.

The other thing I was served up (because The Internet knows I have been googling MCU stuff) is that there are rumors (originating ... where?) that Dr. Strange 2 will introduced Namor, Professor X and Reed Richards as part of the Illuminati (who apparently got an easter egg in Iron Man 2), which ... sure, why not.

The engineer floated was Blue Marvel. I don't know who that is, but he sounds like a delicious ice cream flavor.

Who knows at this point. I've also seen rumors that Namor is going to be introduced in The Eternals flick. Won't be surprised when he does show up.

As I've said a few times, I'm still hoping for a Quasar appearance at some point.

Samuel L Jackson-resembling Nick Fury

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 18 February 2021 00:06 (five years ago)

That existed before the MCU though

Nhex, Thursday, 18 February 2021 00:18 (five years ago)

Would be pretty sick if it was the Blue Marvel! I'm afraid it's gonna be someone more boring, like some third-stringer from Agents of SHIELD or something

stilt in the wings (sic), Thursday, 18 February 2021 00:35 (five years ago)

Sure, in an alternate universe line which was shut down - in the meantime they replaced the main Marvel Fury with his son that looked like Samuel L Jackson.

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 18 February 2021 08:11 (five years ago)

wholly new

stilt in the wings (sic), Thursday, 18 February 2021 09:02 (five years ago)

also I only read the first two Ultimateses, but iirc the line was still going when the MCU started, so it later shutting down is only germane if it was shut down in a time-fracturing event that rippled backwards into our multiverse and a splinter version of Kang The Conqueror stopped Bill Jemas from ever having been born

stilt in the wings (sic), Thursday, 18 February 2021 09:09 (five years ago)

Okay okay fine, it's Coulson - the other options are basically Erik Selvig, Darcy, and Luis, right?

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 18 February 2021 09:27 (five years ago)

(Also while researching this short ill tempered post I have become aware that the third Ant-Man film, due next year (at time of going to press) is called Quantumania and features Kang)

Andrew Farrell, Thursday, 18 February 2021 09:29 (five years ago)

due next year (at time of going to press)

Filming began in early February 2021 in Turkey, and will also shoot in Atlanta, London, and Los Angeles.

eeesh

I barely remember a handful of things from about 3.5 of the fistful of MCU movies I've seen, but Luis is clearly the greatest live-action Marvel character, new or old

stilt in the wings (sic), Thursday, 18 February 2021 10:07 (five years ago)

Well that moved the plot on a bit.

Andrew Farrell, Friday, 19 February 2021 17:39 (five years ago)

NB: Episode 7 actually finally DOES have a post-credits thing, so stick around for that.

Nhex, Friday, 19 February 2021 21:36 (five years ago)

This sure is one smooth, smartly paced show. Incredible how much information it gives without just giving everything (or anything) away.

yeah she’s amazing.

elizabeth olsen also just incredibly good.

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 19 February 2021 23:12 (five years ago)

Also really deft the way it doles out stuff for people who have no idea what's going on (or in my case barely, but probably still more than most) as well as for Total Marvel people who know storylines, characters, powers, etc.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 19 February 2021 23:18 (five years ago)

there was a bunch of radio and TV soundtrack stuff in the captions this week - is that audible in a 5.1 surround mix, or dropped between the caption script and TX?

who (behind the camera) prompted wanda with 'do you think this is what you deserve?'

mookieproof, Saturday, 20 February 2021 02:06 (five years ago)

it sounded like a male voice, but then Agatha's video montage made it look like it was her?

maybe it was....RALPH?

i'm kinda wondering that myself.

if you meh them, shut up (Neanderthal), Saturday, 20 February 2021 02:12 (five years ago)

definitely a male voice

mookieproof, Saturday, 20 February 2021 02:16 (five years ago)

Dottie showed back up in this ep too. well, briefly appeared in a shot of the town at least.

if you meh them, shut up (Neanderthal), Saturday, 20 February 2021 02:19 (five years ago)

I still think there's a chance Agatha is being controlled/used by someone else. But still other questions, like did Agatha create the kids/bring Vision back? Did she expand the hex? Why are things going wonky in Wandaland? And I still don't think we've met the engineer, only the soldier delivering what the engineer designed.

Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 20 February 2021 02:26 (five years ago)

I dunno, I think we're too close to the end to throw yet another villain in there, unless Dottie is also in on the Hex

my guess: episode 8 will flashback to explain her motivations and how we got to the beginning of Wandavision, episode 9 will be the explosive battle through realities to save the world with special guest cameo(s) by... Doctor Strange? Clea? Jake Gyllenhaal? Patrick Stewart? Dick Van Dyke?? who knows!??

(boy, did I love that ending sequence.)
