Dreyfuss is probably fine in Graffiti, definitely good in Jaws, and I'd watch What About Bob? with an audience to see if it holds up. If we start weighing his perfs on a scale though, fgti might be able to tip it. I've no idea what Bloomps has done outside a Crowe I haven't seen, some (?) of the Pirates, and taking that elephant thing down hardcore, damn, but it can't be all that much in quantity.

Plenty of human beings as bad as Wiseau at acting who, like Wiseau, are not professional actors.

If Dreyfuss has been terrible in 103 films and Bloom has only been profoundly inept in seven, I can see a case for it

maybe a weekly "What About Dick?" podcast where flambo watches and talks through a different Dreyfuss fillum with a guest and/or a steady-handed producer could help us assess

was he any good in that OJ miniseries

James Franco‘s best might’ve been as “James Franco” in 30 rock for that matter

I only watched half of that but Schwimmer saying “Juice” was at least entertaining xp

thought Schwimmer was great in Friends

lest anybody wants to add LeBlanc to the list.....he was ace on Episodes, even if he was literally playing himself

Im not out to defend dreyfuss at all i agree with every criticism of him offered itt tbh hes barely any better than a hamill or what was the guy who played mozart in amadeus, ppl who should not have gotten past their first drama class like

But that one laugh in jaws is as far beyond the comprehension of bloom as a moment of work as one can imagine any execution of art being to another practitioner nominally in the same field.

Bloom is not just not at the races he cannot comprehend why speed is an asset in them

- must have successful movie career (no chris noth)
- must never have exhibited a single moment of facility in acting (no dreyfuss because that one laugh in jaws)
- notable novelty element would mean a harder sell for the nominator (no arnie, no madonna, no david spade)
- not liking them is for other ilx threads this is for being terrified at their lack of human presence

I mean this isnt comprehensive but i think its fair and indicative

Knightley certainly a contender
