Does Kris Marshall count? He has mostly had a career being a gormless cunt on TV, but he does have a side career being a gormless cunt in films, he is also tipped to be the new Dr Who, god help us.

Future generations will discover this vast wealth of Bloom gifs, and will wonder what kind of society we were, and just what we valued.

The actor has been widely tipped for the 13th Doctor role in recent weeks due to a betting surge and his curiously timed exit from BBC’s Death in Paradise.

According to an interview with the HeraldSun, Marshall stated he was “very flattered to be considered by the good public” as the next Doctor, before adding “I wouldn’t put any money on it yet.”

Kris Marshall is really bad, and managed to be one of the worst parts of appalling Christmas film Love Actually. Is he Bloom-bad?

I literally cannot stand to watch him on screen, but I’m unconvinced that’s sheer badness and not just personal dislike tbh.

on one hand he does seem to have a bit too much, well you can't exactly call it "personality" but he has a presence, albeit a repellant one

on the other hand that is just his real face and his real personality, he has never shown any ability to either work it into a role or make it a bit that works on its own.

suppose I should watch some more of his serious acting to find out, except no, not going to do that of course.

apparently Hader played the voice of Pipey on an episode of Silicon Valley ... I am guessing that might be his best role?

He and Kristen Wiig are pretty good in Adventureland.

He's good at what he's meant to be doing in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Superbad, and perfectly fine in Tropic Thunder iirc.

Bad in superbad, have zero recollection of him in adventureland or tropic thunder

Deeply awkward screen presence, ive seen the things ppl praise him for and if hes writing it then hes holding his writing career back playing the roles

I liked Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber and How the Grinch Stole Christmas and maybe a couple of other comedy roles, but not in any of his dramatic performances

"I liked this actor's performances" is not - and I'll allow the difference is fine and subtle - "this actor is absolutely in the running to be the most inept, albeit famous & successful, film performer of all time"

Hader's great but like the majority of SNL alumni I don't know that he really needs to be an actor in movies

People liked him a bunch in Skeleton Twins.

Also, good comedic acting is acting, too. I remember a friend observing that one thing that helped sell Key & Peele was that the leads were good actors. Same thing with Mr. Show, imo. Or Eddie Murphy or yeah, Bill Murray. I guess it's a harder thing to break down. I do love it when more dramatic actors reveal their comedy chops, though, like Charlize Theron or Streep or whomever.

Hes not good in it, it has moments

oh i liked him in trainwreck but maybe not quite as much as lebron james

It never occurred to me to wonder whether Orlando Bloom could act or not.

He can act close enough to an elf in those movies, probably as good as we'll get.
