LOL the first thing that caught my eye when I read through that FBI Boston tweet was NATICK / crosswords.

Sammy Agar-Agar (Leee), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:01 (five years ago)

lol that is great. may the patriot party cleave the republican share of the vote in half in every state in the union.

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:02 (five years ago)

I honestly think this is him trying to create his army of orcs.

Respectfully Yours, (Aimless), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:03 (five years ago)

Hmm, so who throws him off the tower at the end. (Yes yes I know, film version rather than book.)

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:06 (five years ago)

All the more reason for McConnell & co. to support conviction, so a simple majority can subsequently disqualify Donnie from ever running again.

pomenitul, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:06 (five years ago)

that works for me too

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:07 (five years ago)

this is all so enjoyable, however fleetingly

bye fuckface!

John Wesley Glasscock (Hadrian VIII), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:10 (five years ago)

xxp don’t see the Republican Party fracturing that easily

Dan S, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:13 (five years ago)

Trump has zero idea what kind of expertise and organization it would take to create a new political party larger and more potent than the current Libertarian Party, which can't seem to elect anyone. Or, if he does understand how much work it would be, then this is just Yet Another Attention Attraction Ploy that has no substance behind it. Sadly, it seems destined to remain political vaporware, although maybe he could extract tens of millions of dollars from his ardent orcs, before he abandons it.

Respectfully Yours, (Aimless), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:13 (five years ago)

Yeah he’s more of a “say something and hope other people do it” kinda guy

frogbs, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:18 (five years ago)

I dunno...I think some of that old school "ground game" stuff got shown up this time around

he just needs to have people who will vote for him instead of someone else

no one thought he could build a campaign either

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:20 (five years ago)

i think whoever said he is trying to scare off mcconnell from voting to convict is correct. he is floating this in the media to dare the republicans to kick him out, as he would take his followers (such as they are) with him. it could easily backfire by convincing the senate repubs that he needs to be barred from office for life (best outcome)

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:25 (five years ago)

i think trump is going to get a show on oan or newsmax or something and then that will be it.

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:26 (five years ago)

he'll be too obsessive and monotonous for viewers though so he'll just fail at this. i don't see him pulling in as many viewers as tucker or whatever. that is my prediction for the rest of his career.

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:27 (five years ago)

Trump will be dead by the next election cycle. The next several years will destroy him.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:31 (five years ago)

depends on how many lawsuits and criminal trials are actually coming

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:32 (five years ago)

predictions of death always turn out wrong

Dan S, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:35 (five years ago)

Anyway I think KT's thread here isn't far off, ultimately.

the thing about trump building a new political party is everyone knows he can’t build anything worth a shit but he can sure as hell wreck an existing one like a tomahawk missile strike. have fun!

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:37 (five years ago)

My guess is that the main thing he's learned about political parties is that they are excellent money-laundering operations. A political party set up as a multi-level marketing scheme could be worth some money before it all went to hell and everyone involved except him went to jail.

My sympathy meter is not very high here. But, worth a read, however exculpatory.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:44 (five years ago)

no one thought he could build a campaign either

much easier to do when you've got a political party flush with cash from ridiculously wealthy donors. not to mention the fact that the same networks falling over themselves to give him as much free airtime as possible won't even let him speak live anymore

frogbs, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:50 (five years ago)

This can't be over soon enough:

Probably everyone has seen this, but a dunk is s dunk.

Don’t forget to dress warm tomorrow.

I heard it’s going to be minus 45.

Charlie P., cracking wise and a little hopeful at the moment:
But the most interesting hearing was that of Janet Yellen, the nominee to lead the Treasury Department. Yellen is nobody's idea of a socialist. (Well, she might be Josh Hawley's idea of a socialist, but then again, so was the barista who got his order wrong Monday morning.) Nevertheless, she called for some seriously big government to meet the current crises.

Q Anon is so fucked. Choose your own adventure, but it all ends up leading a repackaged "blood libel" narrative.

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 02:59 (five years ago)

predictions of death always turn out wrong

can we check the maths on this

shivers me timber (sic), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 03:05 (five years ago)

xp You mean, the original blood libel against the Jews, or the way Palin applied it to herself when associated w shooting of Gabby Giffords and others that day, just because of her get-out-the-vote rhetoric and visuals? Do Qanon fans think they're being picked on? Hearing that from some other Trump followers online & and on air.

dow, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 03:09 (five years ago)

xp i din wanna say but

Qanondorf (darraghmac), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 03:09 (five years ago)

i think Q Anon is repackaged antisemitism. they lure people in but that is the story at the heart of it, one that is old and familiar.

treeship., Wednesday, 20 January 2021 03:10 (five years ago)

Yeah, eventually someone will say Rothschild. Or Soros, who's the new Rothschild. I think sometimes people who repeat those things are only vaguely if at all aware of the connotations, but that doesn't make it any better. They're still serving as vehicles.

Bannon to be pardoned

John Wesley Glasscock (Hadrian VIII), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 03:53 (five years ago)

is that official? because fuck that

Respectfully Yours, (Aimless), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 03:58 (five years ago)

links are cool on the internet!

News w @PamelaBrownCNN — Trump has decided to pardon Steve Bannon in a last-minute decision made hours before he’s scheduled to leave the WH. Officials cautioned CNN Trump's decision is not final until he signs the paperwork but Trump has told people he’s decided to pardon Bannon

the word "transactional" doesn't begin to convey the abysmal depth of his corruption

Respectfully Yours, (Aimless), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:05 (five years ago)

Allegedly he keeps going back and forth. I guess my question is, is the idea that he gets pardoned but the rest of the people indicted with him...don't?

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:06 (five years ago)

Trump should pardon Biden.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:07 (five years ago)

some state should charge him with something, even if it's as menial as loitering at the Cuckservative Hut

multiple shirts violations

John Wesley Glasscock (Hadrian VIII), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:12 (five years ago)

given he's under federal investigation for fraud, it's hard to see how he didn't also commit a bunch of state crimes.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:14 (five years ago)

i'm sure he ripped some tags off of mattresses

Looking for Cape Penis house (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:16 (five years ago)

Can't rule out Bannon having some kompromat of his own.

a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony (tipsy mothra), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:17 (five years ago)

The odds of these turds not committing more crimes in the next few years, while they still have even a sliver of the spotlight, are practically nil. From Trump on down. It'll be like OJ after he was acquitted.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:20 (five years ago)

i wonder which of them is going to die first

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 20 January 2021 04:21 (five years ago)

all of them, in a Guyana Punch Line-esque sendoff
