that's the thing the table-haters don't understand: these pro-grade tables can be turned sideways, upside-down even. they're modular. you can throw a table. and you can't walk over a table.

well, for the ilx historical record, in addition to making table movie trailer jokes, i am kind of astonished that this just happened (the second impeachment). i remember earlier this year, weeks after the first impeachment, angrily making a "IMPEACH THE RACIST PRESIDENT AGAIN!" sign to hang in the living room window, in total futility and sadness. and of course, knowing there was no way they were going to impeach the racist president again, for all the reasons that seemed so obvious at the time. and here we are

I get it, but some of us just spent the last 2 years taking stances that have led to repeated attempts on our lives - for demanding guaranteed healthcare, immigrant justice, etc.

Sorry if this lacks empathy, but it’s a privilege if this is their first time. They can do one vote. https://t.co/PGPObm4K2C

Congratulation to all-time record-holding loser Donald Trump, who will be forever remembered, even by inattentive 7th graders, as the only President to be impeached twice.

Among other dubious records, Trump will likely long hold the record for easiest trivia answer, too.

Impeachment of Donald Trump may refer to:

First impeachment of Donald Trump
First impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump
Impeachment trial of Donald Trump
Second impeachment of Donald Trump

Gonna impeach him so often we'll get tired of all the impeaching.

let's start at the very beginning
a very good place to start
when you speak you begin with A-B-C
When impeaching you start with T-R-U-M-P

just ending governments at random times when the parliament doesn't support the executive is how much of the world works. maybe impeachment-o-rama won't be so bad.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 13 January 2021 22:39 (five years ago)

Great point just made that a couple of big advantages of postponing the trial portion is that the Dems will control the senate, which means not just subpoena power, but also the power and ability to discover documents and other evidence left out from the first impeachment trial, not to mention any other crimes Trump (probably) committed over the past 4 years. I'm sure Mitch understands this as well. If he really wanted this done, he could end this ASAP. Waiting until Trump is out of office is actually potentially a gift to Dems.

Josh in Chicago, Wednesday, 13 January 2021 22:51 (five years ago)

just ending governments at random times when the parliament doesn't support the executive is how much of the world works

Congress should absolutely be able to issue votes of no confidence.

but also fuck you (unperson), Wednesday, 13 January 2021 22:52 (five years ago)

So will Trump actually be forced to turn up this time? I seem to recall Clinton being publicly quizzed for what felt like weeks about the dress jizzing etc. Seemed like Trump pretty much pretended the last impeachment trial wasn't even happening, although it was a year ago, which in current terms is a century or more so easy to forget the details.
