House Republican argument basically boils down to "Democrats brought this riot on themselves by not doing what our voters wanted, and this impeachment is going to make them even madder. You should be as afraid of them as we are"

there's also a particularly vacant sub-argument they keep returning to, which is:

1. democrats were talking about impeaching trump on day 1
2. democrats impeached him last year
3. and now, democrats are impeaching him again

They were talking about impeaching him on day 1 because of credible reports of Russian election interference. They actually impeached him in 2019 because of attempted election interference. And they are impeaching him again today because of still more attempted election interference.

There is indeed a through-narrative here, but it's not "Democrats will try anything to try to get Trump."
