There is no "acceptable" and its a bit juvenile to be looking for any version of it that resembles "nobody on a message board will be unreasonably pissy about this" which is the only facsimile i can even imagine

Yeah, I almost came back to post that it is really just like any other message board since the beginning of the internet, in that it’s more who is driving the behavior than the behavior itself.

of course it matter who is posting. that's a good thing. if you don't want to worry about who is posting, then there are fun anonymous boards like 4chan that are all about the content. i prefer to be somewhere where people attach handles to their posts, because i'm not analyzing their "content" like a robot, i'm taking in account where people are coming from and their other interests and beliefs about stuff.

I’m just saying that certain longtime posters get free passes for, say, faux incredulous posting, that others get immediately piled on for. Agree that the Pence aspect is being underreported. Lin Wood was outright calling for a firing squad on Twitter, if Pence didn’t comply, and then Trump issued the statements about Pence failing them. It was basically a strike order. First time I ever reported a post on there.

Romney, Sasse, murkowski, Collins, toomey on the left (ha!). Maybe Tom cotton on the right. Lindsey’s a wild card. Seems unlikely but not out of the question that’s the start of a 2/3 majority. So I find the “he won’t be convicted” argument you hear from some of the big brained democrats in congress utterly unconvincing.

I guess sasse is on the right but you get what I mean.

I am no tactician so I leave that to others but I find the argument pretty compelling that, conviction or conviction, you can't let a guy do this stuff and not impeach him if the impeachment power is to have any meaning.

Unlike prosecutors who, for example won't bring rape charges unless they feel certain they will win a conviction, the House should not second guess whether the Senate will convict. They should press ahead.
