Earlier today I read the Dominion lawsuit that Was just released - suing Sydney Powell For over a billion dollars - and it was remarkably rigorous. She’s toast. There was so much evidence of specific harm in it. There was also a LOT of documentation on how her false claims had been amplified on social media and right wing media. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of lawyers for these companies have indicated that there are potentially some very expensive lawsuits imminent and that has had some relevance to the overdue banning tonight.

(Not just for Trump but for a lot of his enablers)

As much as I'm loving all this, I am conflicted over kicking Trump off Twitter. I don't care about Twitter, and god knows I don't care about Trump, but when it comes to speech, I'm basically like one of those NRA cretins, always nervous about the slippery slope. (Because I hate guns, I view their slippery slope as fictional; because I'm me, mine is real.) I've been here 10 years, and I've never suggested a ban or flagged a post or killed a file--not one. Not passing judgement on those who do--and I'm white, and male, and straight, and Canadian, so it's easier for me. If something upsets me enough, I just try to stay clear of the person or the thread, and that has worked for me. But then that comes up against the fact that Trump's Twitter account is linked up to the accounts of all those lunatics that planned and carried out what happened Wednesday, and that that led to five deaths. I understand that. So conflicted.
