After some sober reflection upon Deepfakegate and time spent speaking with my pastor, I will concede that a more likely scenario is that, even after being warned in no uncertain terms about his potential legal liability, Trump still dragged his feet to the podium like a petulant teenager and proceeded to dither and prevaricate in front of the camera as always, leaving the WH A/V Club to hastily patch together a two-minute statement that both looked and sounded coherent from something like 2-3 hours of raw footage.
