They just voted on it via referendum in November, 52.3-47.7 in favor of statehood.

Both his supporters and detractors find him outlandish and comical to a certain extent; they just differ on whether or not that's a good thing

Because I'm aware this might be his last big splash on cable news, I am tuned in for the first time since he was in Minneapolis and ... he doesn't even have the comedic chops people claim he has.
