i forgot i followed a veteran teevee journalist from the local pbs station on twitter (promptly unfollowed). he retweeted this garbage george conway tweet. he's ostensibly democrat? actually i have no idea. old white man obviously. so many of these people really truly believe this ahistorical nonsense and get sooo offended at the slightest whiff of "socialism". but they were "counter-cultural" for 5 years in the sixties. skin-deep. starting to realize respectability politics (and the class / racial interests they safeguard naturally) has just completely brainwashed an entire generation of people (and gen x after them, millennials less so maybe).
