Struggling to understand the leap in quality Villa have made. I think Martinez might be amongst the best handful of signings over the summer, and one of the dumbest sales by Arsenal, a terrifically dumb club atm.

Ezri Konsa developing into our best defender has been part of it. He's just really really good. That was already happening before Martinez came in but that's undoubtedly helped.

John McGinn being fit again is a big change, I don't think we'd have been in quite such a mess last year if he hadn't been out.

Plus Grealish just keeps getting better too.

But you're right, it's been the improvement at the back (again, this started before Martinez came in) which has been most impressive, cause that looks like a triumph of coaching more than money being spent (ok it's probably a combination of the two).
