Well if you want to go really dark(saber), note that the Boba Fett teaser demonstrates that 1) Fennec got off the ship meaning 2) Boba came back to get her. Ergo, once the debt had been paid because the Mandalorian got the Child again (and then immediately gave him away), Fennec killed everyone else just standing around on the bridge with a thermal detonator and scooped up the darksaber and went off to do crimes with Boba Fett. Perhaps I am wrong.

The series will be executive produced by Favreau and Dave Filoni, along with helmer Robert Rodriguez, who directed the thrilling Chapter 14 (“The Tragedy”) episode in season 2.

i dunno, i'm not emotionally engaged with the Mandalorian. it was a good time! maybe they'll do something okay with it in a year! in the meantime, there's literally a half dozen shows based on this general formula on the way so I'll try each of them once or twice to see if there's any juice left in that orange.

faux Cushing was surely a little uncanny valley but mando luke was obviously done on the cheap and just sucked. Woulda been better imo to get a lookalike actor who introduces himself as "Skywalker... Luke Skywalker" so that they could write young luke into this universe without the tech issues... i WANTED that jedi to be Luke! I was hoping! Then he took down the hood and it was a real uuuuggggghhh moment.

I am hoping Baby Yoda is no more than an infrequent side character in the future. If this series has taught Disney one thing, it's that with the right people in charge new ideas can stick and reignite the imaginative sense of wonder the original series was so good at. Rather than continuously milking things, keep adding new things! But perhaps this is wishful thinking.

Also given what Parker and Stone are doing with deep fakes fake Luke could have been done way the fuck better

The blurry halo of these effects is terrible.

They’ve established that Han and Lando can be played by other actors, but the last movie had younger Luke & Leia (in this same time period)... don’t think they can go against that trend, at least for a long time.

Anyway there's some sort of making-of for season 2 dropping I think on Christmas itself; won't be a series like the previous one, probably since all the basics had been discussed already.

I would watch another hourlong dive into how The Volume works though

Finally caught up with the last couple of episodes. Some of it was kind of dopey - too much dark this and dark that - but there were some solid laser fights, and nice genre nods to everything from Wages of Fear to nu-Battlestar Galactica. Didn't care about the look of youthafied Luke when in the end he's still acting against a puppet, a robot trashcan, and a variety of Boba Fetts of different bents. Did find the terminators silly, and even my daughter commented how every bunch of baddies (stormtroopers, terminators, space pirates) seemed to come in never-ending waves. We thought it would have been hilarious if they just left the Dark Terminators floating in space, and some future Star Wars thing could have a ship flying around and run into them.

Their batteries would be dead by then. Would have been cool if their jet shoes drained too much battery, and they took turns punching the door until they died so that only a few were left to fight.

I would have liked Mando to offer Luke a small but key piece of aid or advice during the Jedi battle sequence, just so as not to be completely useless.

Hamill's voice performance was more disappointing than digital putty face, considering he does a pretty good Harrison Ford...

I wonder if they even tried to post-process the Wolverine out of his vocals...
