Rob, the Atlantic's really narrow at the top. You'll swim it in no time!

But I'm supposed to interview/see Coldcut tonight here in Toronto! Time to finish that teleporter device I've been working on...

I've got a Tardis I'm not using...

I am teh suX0r, but I'm sorry, I just don't think I'm going to make it down. I'm just too exhausted and am falling asleep at my desk.

That was FUCKING AWESOME! I've just got home... London, I salute you. Everyone who played rocked, apologies to Barima for stealing his Thunder*, and it was great to see a post-club Ronan as well. Set You Free will be in my head for days now.

*Van Halen, actually

really good night. thanks to the Sugar crew for putting it on, had a great time. want more cake now.

aye

charltonlido (gareth), Saturday, 13 May 2006 12:09 (eighteen years ago) link

I didn't get any cake :(

Katey and Marianna's dancing behind the decks = teh rock.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 13 May 2006 12:18 (eighteen years ago) link

I got cake :)

That was so fantastic y'all. Thanks everyone for coming down!

I love the way the sound of exploding balloons on the dancefloor is basically our trademark now. Things that go pop and things that go bang indeed.

Fab to meet Ronan afterwards too!

It's hard to believe MJ had never been played before at Sugar. Everyone seemed so suprised it made me feel like a wedding DJ. I'm available for bookings, BTW.

Hal! Jordan! HAL! JORDAN! (Barima), Saturday, 13 May 2006 13:52 (eighteen years ago) link

that was loads of fun! sorry we were late, sgs's train was delayed by fire!

the DJs i saw (marianna, barima and the lex, plus matt's last track) were all great and really fun to dance to. yay, hope you do it again soon.

colette (a2lette), Saturday, 13 May 2006 15:12 (eighteen years ago) link

i apologise to whoever owned the magazine that i was defacing...

...carsmile + beer + marker pen + magazine = writing INDIE on everything...

Thank you so, so, so, so much to everyone who came out on Friday, I really appreciate it and hope you had a good time. Despite some personal dramas I had a superace time! Aren't the other Sugar DJs awesome? They're so awesome.

Mmm, cupcakes.

Can we go dancing again soon? xxx

Vernon Jackson (kate), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:24 (eighteen years ago) link

There was a work-related FAP in the King's Road and unfortunately by the time I came out I was far too knackered to leg it over to Whitechapel. Will try to look in at the next one.

Marcello Carlin (nostudium), Monday, 15 May 2006 08:40 (eighteen years ago) link

I had a harsh choice and went to the French night with Sarah and Kat instead, cos it was closer and easier for home really - that was good too but I'm sorry I missed this, it sounds awesome!

Tom (Groke), Monday, 15 May 2006 09:21 (eighteen years ago) link

that was my magazine carsmile. the graffiti was strangely on point! though i am surprised you classed the knife as indie but not scatter.

i'm djing at 93 feet east tonight, for those who either a) can't get enough of me, or b) missed sugar...

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 15 May 2006 12:06 (eighteen years ago) link

i have 0 idea who scatter are. the knife are clearly indie though.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 15 May 2006 14:36 (eighteen years ago) link

i forget why.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Monday, 15 May 2006 14:38 (eighteen years ago) link

scatter are 'free folk'. drones and improv feature highly, i gather. it's a really good feature, though i would not like to hear the music. the knife are goth, not indie.

i just had a sugar flashback! when i dropped backstreet boys, marianna and colette and sarah danced IN SYNC WITH EACH OTHER! :D
