interesting piece aldo. i hadn’t heard of him.

I suspect as much as anything else it's because Hooper's interest was primarily in the explicitly Christian material but the Christopher Tolkien analogy is a good one.

Really dismayed by Corben dying, he's among my top comic artists and I was still looking forward to his new work and he never seemed as old as he was, he kept his techniques fresh and evolving. I hope whatever works in progress will be shown. His daughter was collaborating with him in recent years.

And why have these Cynic guys been dying so young?

Loved Paolo Rossi in 1982. Italy was nothing more than the boot on the classroom globe to me then, but what he did was was so exciting and glamorous, and I'd never felt anything like it before. RIP.
