Again, won't canonize the guy, but I'll take him over the other obvious morons out there.

While the evil and stupid are blatantly infuriating, it’s the evil and smart (John Roberts f ex) you need to keep an eye on

I know that clip was mocking Giuliani, but also Powell's leopard print sweater, black turtleneck and razor blade pendant were equally wtf

Dan S, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:13 (five years ago)

CNN has "a source" that says this is all about Trump seeking revenge on Democrats (presumably for the impeachment, more generally for being alive). Who knows. If there is some truth to that, I wouldn't exactly call it good news, but there may be some reassurance inherent in there that this all does have an ending, and that he has no desire for any of this to work. It may be the best you can hope for.

clemenza, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:17 (five years ago)

Revenge for ... winning? Sure, why not.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:19 (five years ago)

I'm seeing that AP is calling GA for Biden?

howls of non-specificity (sleeve), Friday, 20 November 2020 01:23 (five years ago)

But AP still hasn't called the election, right?

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:23 (five years ago)

Quite a quote

Tucker on Sidney Powell: “This may be the most open-minded show on television. We literally do UFO segments here.”

“So we invited her on the show. ... We would have given her the entire week, actually ... But she never sent any evidence. Not a page.”

— curtmills (@CurtMills) November 20, 2020

Ned Raggett, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:27 (five years ago)

doing UFO segments doesn't make you open-minded, it makes you the second coming of William F Cooper

Considering Tucker was all in on the Huntergate thing to the point of that supposed UPS misdelivery and all that, it's an amusing shift.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:33 (five years ago)

Enjoy the clip! And a further quote.

Tucker Carlson calls out Sidney Powell, saying he asked her for evidence to support her election fraud claims, but "she never sent us any evidence despite a lot of requests, polite requests, not a page."

"When we kept pressing she got angry and told us to stop contacting her." pic.twitter.com/IOlOdhp6MJ

Google image search of Sydney Powell reveals she also dresses like a Batman villain in the style of Roger Stone.

Tucker Carlson has jumped ship? The whole system's breaking down.

Dan S, the weird semiotics of all this are really important, and I wouldn't have noticed how bizarre her look exactly was without this comment, many thanks

Powell's leopard print sweater, black turtleneck and razor blade pendant

Well, her wikipedia page claims she did roadie for The Runaways in junior college.

The weirdest part of that Giuliani is the way he carefully and purposefully folds the tissue snot side out with a mischievous grin before rubbing the rest of his face with it.

epistantophus, Friday, 20 November 2020 02:17 (five years ago)

*of that Giuliani clip

epistantophus, Friday, 20 November 2020 02:18 (five years ago)

Thank you, I caught that too.

Andy the Grasshopper, Friday, 20 November 2020 02:18 (five years ago)

I have to believe he was trying to put the snot side on the inside, and just had a topological brain fart, maybe distracted by Powell's outfit.

nickn, Friday, 20 November 2020 02:24 (five years ago)

There's a TikTok a guy made of it that narrates the whole thing and it's...whew. He also WIPES HIS FACE with it snot side out.

$20,000 per diem = sweat money. Be careful what you wish for.

Andy the Grasshopper, Friday, 20 November 2020 02:34 (five years ago)

He looks barely human these days. Like a 1970s Dr Who monster or something

Zelda Zonk, Friday, 20 November 2020 02:38 (five years ago)

Sipping vodka all day will give you the sweats too.

You will notice a small sink where your sofa once was. (Old Lunch), Friday, 20 November 2020 12:32 (five years ago)

Every once in a while, on the rare occasion that I’m able to stop thinking about how shitty and scary and frustrating this whole shitshow is, and how doomed our democracy seems, I think about how the GOP leadership, who through their own inaction, cowardice and lust for power allowed Trump to take over their party, are now completely boxed in. They hitched their wagons to him and now they can’t get off. Not that I feel bad for them in any way. But they must live in fear now, that on one hand they have to show absolute fealty at all times or they will get destroyed, while on the other hand Trump is on his way out of power and they are stuck following a loser. They have debased themselves, shown themselves as cowardly hypocrites with no principles, and tipped their hands to just how low they will sink to get what they want. History will not look kindly on their abandonment of, and attacks on, democratic ideals. And they are already facing consequences, be sure of it. They are afraid of their voters. Some of them probably have family members who will not forgive them for enabling this shit to happen. And if you want to see some verifiable, real-world consequences they are facing, look at how many of them are coming down with coronavirus because they aren’t allowed to wear masks and have to pretend there is no danger. I guarantee that not all of them will be as lucky as Trump, to survive it with no apparent lingering after effects. Again, I don’t feel bad for them at all, they have brought this all on themselves, and on the rest of us as well. But there are consequences and there will be more. If not, we might as well forget about American democracy, because it’s already over.

epistantophus, Friday, 20 November 2020 14:52 (five years ago)

History will not look kindly on their abandonment of, and attacks on, democratic ideals.

In moments like this I wonder what power or meaning history has. In the internet era, with fake news and partisan "truths", what even is history? These people refuse to accept the truth of the civil war and the racist meaning underneath their beloved flag. What does the opprobrium of intelligent people of the future mean to them?

Barr flat out invoked "history is written by the winners" as a defense of his actions.
