Well, to be fair, we are dealing with a bunch of amateurs here.

I mean, Turley's a tool, but the point is Turley was Trump's tool -- he was on the President's defense team for the impeachment IIRC! So if he's saying this, the bloom's off the rose.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 19 November 2020 21:25 (five years ago)

Another smashing success

New: A judge has dismissed the Arizona GOP's challenge to the state's election. This case lasted one week. https://t.co/DudkxeylSm

I feel the tide turning. Trump's gonna take this.

Muswell Hillbilly Elegy (President Keyes), Thursday, 19 November 2020 21:27 (five years ago)

Note the response from nutjob Kelli Ward, who says they'll just...ask for new state legislation for the future. As opposed to anything else now.

The main problem with Turley's take is it assumes Dominion cares enough about all this bullshit to file a defamation suit. Big corporations often choose not to bother with defamation suits because then you open yourself up to depositions and all kinds of headaches.

exactly this. he's been a fucking tool for Trump forever, I could give a shit about the analysis

that is def one of the problems xp. But agree with Ned's point.

gameplan revealed. This seems .... very unlikely to succeed.

akm, Thursday, 19 November 2020 21:34 (five years ago)

Asked at a news conference on Thursday if the campaign’s aim was to block state certifications so Republican lawmakers could pick electors, Giuliani laughed and said the goal was to get around what he called an “outrageous iron curtain of censorship.”

What the fuck is he even talking about here?

🚨BREAKING: Pennsylvania Court REJECTS Trump's appeal of the Bucks County Board of Elections decision to count certain mail-in ballots.

I don't really know who Jonathan Turley is, but

I assume that counsel like Sidney Powell would not make such allegations without proof

ahhahhahhahhahhhhhahahhaaha *sobs*

Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 19 November 2020 21:55 (five years ago)

i assume he's being facetious because I don't think anyone takes Sidney Powell seriously

Of note

Rep. Fred Upton, a senior Michigan Republican, told me it's time for Trump to concede -- and he said there's no evidence to back-up widespread voter fraud allegations that would change MI outcome.

“No one has seen any real identification of any real fraud,” Upton said of Detroit

Also the Georgia case just got trashed.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 19 November 2020 22:49 (five years ago)

Trump & Co. are somehow managing to simultaneously go out with a bang and a whimper.

Andy the Grasshopper, Thursday, 19 November 2020 22:54 (five years ago)

Kind of like his love life.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:02 (five years ago)

Another case gone

In Pennsylvania, the Trump campaign has withdrawn its appeal of a judge's order rejecting their challenge to 592 absentee ballots in Montgomery County where the voter didn't write their address when they signed the envelope declaration pic.twitter.com/67rsCF4uoT

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:03 (five years ago)

Ah but a win! A...tiny one.

Just in: A GOP win in Pennsylvania — Commonwealth Court judge ruled that 2,349 absentee ballots in Allegheny County where the voter didn't date their declaration are invalid, reversing a lower court judge https://t.co/PwJddq2Hw5 pic.twitter.com/0AR0DCflku

Meantime

Elswhere in PA, a judge in Bucks County rejected the Trump campaign's appeal of the county's decision to count 2,117 absentee ballots with various deficiencies. Judge notes both sides agreed there was no evidence of fraud re: the ballots in this case https://t.co/AFQ487ZCYK pic.twitter.com/rtvcpd5kUL

As expected, Grimberg DISMISSES on lack of standing. https://t.co/4CL2VznR3j

— Adam Klasfeld (@KlasfeldReports) November 19, 2020

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:07 (five years ago)

These are obv completely lame attempts at invalidating ballots on technicalities yet I also feel like if you can't correctly fill out and mail in your ballot then you prob shouldn't have your voice heard.

Wait, but those weren't all ballots for Biden, right? A mixture?

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:17 (five years ago)

Presumably, though I'm sure weighted to Biden.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:20 (five years ago)

Like rats fighting over crumbs.

Andy the Grasshopper, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:22 (five years ago)

Giuliani mentioned in the news conference today that his team would file a new "major lawsuit" in Georgia tomorrow

Dan S, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:23 (five years ago)

and the certification date in Georgia is tomorrow

Dan S, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:25 (five years ago)

Is there a point at which they can be accused of being vexatious about all this?

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:26 (five years ago)

That challenge to the Allegheny, PA ballots came, I think, not from the Trump campaign, but from Nicole Ziccarelli (R), who lost her state Senate race by 30 votes. Original decision was along the lines of "omitting the date no worse than using red ink - date received is the key date". Reversal was "rules is rules - election not equal, if rules not applied equally".

Lawsuit ain't gonna stop it unless they get, like, an injunction immediately, which they won't.

Biden lead in GA is 13,554 - SoS website updated about 10min ago. Think it was around 14,100 pre-audit.

Michael Jones, Thursday, 19 November 2020 23:42 (five years ago)

it looks like Biden's popular vote margin will be 6M+ when all is said and done

Dan S, Friday, 20 November 2020 00:22 (five years ago)

what a loser

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 20 November 2020 00:34 (five years ago)

We all know that 7M of Biden's votes were cast by illegal immigrants, dead people, cats, and dead cats. And the cats would definitely have voted for Trump if they'd been allowed to.

The Solace of Fortitude (Aimless), Friday, 20 November 2020 00:36 (five years ago)

Why stop at 7? I heard Biden lost by billions, if you counted everyone.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 20 November 2020 00:51 (five years ago)

Nice breakdown of the Georgia results here

https://www.gpb.org/news/2020/11/19/risk-limiting-audit-confirms-biden-won-georgia

Ned Raggett, Friday, 20 November 2020 00:54 (five years ago)

"These will be the results, and it will be what it is just because that is the will of the Georgia voter," he said. "I can't say it any more calmly than that, because I know that emotions have been spun up and my job is to report facts."

Dan S, Friday, 20 November 2020 00:57 (five years ago)

Again, won't canonize the guy, but I'll take him over the other obvious morons out there.

I know that clip was mocking Giuliani, but also Powell's leopard print sweater, black turtleneck and razor blade pendant were equally wtf

Dan S, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:13 (five years ago)

CNN has "a source" that says this is all about Trump seeking revenge on Democrats (presumably for the impeachment, more generally for being alive). Who knows. If there is some truth to that, I wouldn't exactly call it good news, but there may be some reassurance inherent in there that this all does have an ending, and that he has no desire for any of this to work. It may be the best you can hope for.

clemenza, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:17 (five years ago)

Revenge for ... winning? Sure, why not.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:19 (five years ago)

I'm seeing that AP is calling GA for Biden?

howls of non-specificity (sleeve), Friday, 20 November 2020 01:23 (five years ago)

But AP still hasn't called the election, right?

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:23 (five years ago)

Quite a quote

Tucker on Sidney Powell: “This may be the most open-minded show on television. We literally do UFO segments here.”

“So we invited her on the show. ... We would have given her the entire week, actually ... But she never sent any evidence. Not a page.”

— curtmills (@CurtMills) November 20, 2020

Ned Raggett, Friday, 20 November 2020 01:27 (five years ago)

doing UFO segments doesn't make you open-minded, it makes you the second coming of William F Cooper

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Friday, 20 November 2020 01:29 (five years ago)

“This may be the most open-minded show on television. We literally do UFO segments here.”
