Rowdy Rudy won't even get out of bed for less.

About the $20,000 a day for Rudy: Totally worth it, IMO.

I will help the Trump campaign pay Rudy's fee on one condition: so long as he is the _only_ attorney working on these lawsuits.

Rudy is asking for the cancellation of hundreds of thousands of votes moments after talking about the importance of the right to vote.

This feels like a moment:

The Judge says he intentionally did not allow Pennsylvania counsel to withdraw because he has "some questions."

Actual lol imaging Rudy trying to shove some printed memes from Reddit into the judge’s hands https://t.co/7KXen5pBJK

Rudy, we c- Rudy. Rudy, stop. This is a chain email and the Facebook logo is visible on the side of one of the embedded .bmp screenshots which is attached

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:55 (five years ago)

Your honor, do I have your permission to freestyle at length?

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 19:55 (five years ago)

It's so fucking weird and surreal that Giuliani was once a US Attorney for the SDNY. I guess I'm so overloaded with weird and surreal things about this administration that sometimes I forget that one, but it's so hard to fathom that he once practiced law on a fairly high level and even gained renown for it.

Please tell me this is all being filmed for posterity.

Rudy reminds me of the positively ancient partners at my old job who feebly trailed behind assistants in the cafeteria who assembled their lunch for them because they were too infirm to do it for themselves. I always wondered what value there was in them continuing to come into the office.

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:02 (five years ago)

It's so weird not really knowing anything about Rudy at all until 9/11, when he was being hailed like a hero on SNL and shit, then to see him pop back up as this completely incompetent, bumbling freak. I'm assuming he was always the latter, but he managed to not shit the bed after 9/11 enough to make him seem like a good leader, but maybe NYC folks can disabuse me of that assumption.

at least part of rudy's big time career was federal prosecutor which if you are bad at your job you will win 98% of the time

🚨BREAKING: Trump and his allies have just lost their 25th court case. This time in the PA Supreme Court.

They are now 1-25.

More details soon...

Here's the PA Supreme Court's 5-2 majority opinion rejecting the Trump Campaign's claim that Republican observers didn't get "meaningful access" to watch the vote counting https://t.co/uGkm9YjQ5G pic.twitter.com/hRS100bfOf

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 20:59 (five years ago)

The decision was 5-2 but...

The decision was 5–2 because two justices wouldn't have even decided the case, preferring to rule that it is moot. The principal dissent also explicitly says that throwing out valid ballots would not be an appropriate remedy anyway. This is a total loss for the Trump campaign. https://t.co/BYJ1xThkxQ

Funny how it works

An interesting scene on the Senate floor when several GOP senators congratulated Kamala Harris (most Rs still siding with Trump in his fight over election.)

Sens. Tim Scott, Mike Rounds, James Lankford all congratulated her, as did Ben Sasse. Lindsey Graham gave her a fist bump

He's also credited with bringing down all the NYC mob bosses. Different time.

There's even a new Netflix documentary about that! I've been morbidly curious.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 21:06 (five years ago)

I can’t speak on his competency as a lawyer, but Rudy was always a fucking asshole.

BTW the right-wing "it's 6D chess" line is that they always intended to lose these initial cases, and lose them quickly; the objective is to lose in lower courts so that you can appeal to higher ones, presumably ending with the Trumpian Supreme Court.

Narrator: that's not how this works; that's not how any of this works

It's kind of funny how "Throw out all Joe Biden's ballots" isn't quite the winning legal strategy they envisioned.

healthy cocaine off perfect butts (the table is the table), Tuesday, 17 November 2020 21:18 (five years ago)

I've read that at this point, it's solely about putting an asterisk next to Biden's name... like, they know they likely won't win but they just wanna sow doubt about the legitimacy of the new administration.
Not sure I believe that 100%, these guys are pretty delusional.

lmao at the number of people angry that Harris didn’t set fire to Lindsey Graham on the Senate floor

Like, have any of them ever had a job before? Or even interacted with more than one human being who wasn’t obligated by blood to love them?

DJP, Tuesday, 17 November 2020 21:41 (five years ago)

there might be an asterisk next to Biden's name but only in the heads of a minority of Trump acolytes, plus, the presence of said asterisk in people's minds (like with Bush 2's first term) means precisely nothing.
