imo all that matters in US politics from now to mid-December is whether a stimulus bill gets put together that passes the House and Senate. I see no indication of this happening, but it matters much more than Trump does now.

Maybe too much to hope for, but it's possible Trump's pathetic Twitter posts are doing more to undermine his support than anything Biden or social media fact-checkers can do. Deluded losers tend to give off a stench after a few weeks.

My dad always hated Trump so he's not the target market, but in that he's a more conservative fellow in general he's a good sounding board, and let me tell you -- he's been more voluble about Trump being a truly pathetic figure since the election happened than I've ever heard him about any other politician under discussion in my lifetime. Just a pure disgust.

It seems that if anyone is prepared to take over the presidency with a minimum of transition fuss it's a career politician who was already VP for 8 years.

Deluded MAGAts are a fairly small minority of his voters (see 5,000 people showing up to the Million MAGA March on Saturday. Most of them will have been people who simply do not think about politics much, and don't follow news media or the president's tweets feverishly. Many of these folks who assumed Whoever The President Is was doing a good job, will absolutely be able to see that the non-president guy screaming about everyone in the world being unfair to him is a big crybaby loser, if they happen to notice that he's screaming. Not many people have paid attention to GWB's career as a portrait painter.

A big chunk also will have been Fox voters, not Trump voters, and while on-air anchors might be riding the Stop The Steal train, Rupert's own care obviously evaporated the second his independent decision desk called Arizona.
