you just can't talk to these trumpers. one of them tweeted @ me "How can you not believe what you are seeing with your own eyes and hearing with your own ears? You are brainwashed. Facts matter". it was this beautiful time capsule of irony that didn't require response.

lol EEPHUS he's still doing it!

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Sunday, 15 November 2020 17:09 (five years ago)

I think it's less that you just can't talk to Trumpers and more that you just DON'T talk to Trumpers. If they're incapable of or unwilling to interface with basic reality, they should be actively shunned.

Like there needs to be some social consequence for behaving as they fo, and at present there really isn't much of one. They're the truth-tellin' underdogs!

i agree. some of you probably saw my multi-platform rager last night (no apologies for that one; that was about the most productive way i could funnel my anger and angst and disappointment of the moment), but i'm doing a last name switcheroo due to my racist parents. i've had enough, i want nothing to do with them, and i don't anyone to associate me with them.

it won't happen, because changing your name is a pain in the ass, but i plan on posting my new name/paperwork etc with a clear message that i'm doing so because of my racist parents, and then encouraging anyone else in the same situation to change theirs as well. 2021 should be the year that a whole bunch of people formally dissociate from their racist parents. it sounds like a joke (like my life?) but i actually want that

Bolton got fired by Trump with the usual ceremonial kick in the groin on the way out, so he is persona non grata among Trump crazies, who make up such a large part of the party now. His only path back into power is via the neo-con never-Trumper wing of the party. I'd be thrilled if he never got another sniff at power, but spent the rest of his life pitifully knocking on doors that will never open for him.

donald j trump otm

John Bolton was one of the dumbest people in government that I’ve had the “pleasure” to work with. A sullen, dull and quiet guy, he added nothing to National Security except, “Gee, let’s go to war.” Also, illegally released much Classified Information. A real dope!

Scavino has had full access for the entire administration, and probably has an underling or two tweeting also.

So, from the looks at recent retweets, the staffer(s) who diligently and respectfully curated the @POTUS account has either quit or has been sacked over the weekend. Or, @realDonaldTrump just got the password to it. Sad either way.

I know it's kind of silly to complain about this for the 100th time but the "we report, you decide!" tone to that disclaimer is maddening. he's wrong. he lost. there's not two different sources here.

it's just so pathetic, I have issues with American governance but it's so sad seeing the president tweet in all caps with a disclaimer about official sources disagreeing below it like some old dog pawing at a can of Alpo in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas

Scott Atlas is a late but worthy addition to the list of Trump admin folks who need to be dropped into a well headfirst (although we need to spread this out across multiple wells, as we don't want to risk anyone climbing over their heaped coworkers and escaping).

Man when you’ve got even these two going “Look, give up, you’re being ridiculous.”

Monday 11/16 vote totals: President-elect Biden beat President Trump by 11,024 in AZ; 14,151 in GA; 20,467 in WI and 63,577 in PA. There’s a recount underway in GA, but nowhere else. There’s no lawsuit pending that would change any state from Biden to Trump. GA runoffs are 1/5/21

This outrageous toxic rhetoric has got to stop.

If you need to blame someone for your loss, blame the guy who turned White House press conferences on covid into daily 90-minute nationally televised campaign ads for Joe Biden. (Hint: Same guy who raged in first debate.) https://t.co/ackYwiz4yO

I was wondering what would happen if he just refused to pack up and leave. I don't mean install himself as a dictator or anything like that, just literally refuse. Would they actually have to physically remove him? Chuck all of his belongings on the front lawn? Would they just start packing his shit up whether or not he was OK with it?

Ned Raggett, Monday, 16 November 2020 17:20 (five years ago)

Vexatious, abusive lawsuits often survive and even thrive. The swift, conclusive failure of such a large number of Trump lawsuits is an outlier. Trump’s lawyers lack the savvy or staying power of the most marginal pro se litigant. Kool-aid is not the drink of legal champions.

I was wondering what would happen if he just refused to pack up and leave.

The Presidency is a role, not a building. Leave him in place surrounded by rotting hamberders, I don't care. The new President can work from any number of buildings. Truman used Blair House during WH renovations; we will still have Camp David etc. The whole thing is stupid.

coupvfefe (Ye Mad Puffin), Monday, 16 November 2020 17:32 (five years ago)

Really the biggest obstacle is that idiot Emily Murphy of the GSA right now. Biden should file suit soon.

Like the idea of "wait til the lawsuits play out" is such bullshit. He can keep filing them and filing them all the way out to Dec 14, to prevent them from ever being settled

This, exactly, but at the same time it would be so fucking stupid to just give up the White House to him because he is stubborn and pouty. Which means there is a 65% chance of this actually happen.

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 16 November 2020 17:42 (five years ago)

Sidney Powell is just Rudy with better hair. She knows exactly as much as he does.

Which is that Trump only wants fIghTing fiGhtErs wHo fiGHt, and they are willing to step into that role.

Meanwhile, the real lawyers are noping out, because they can see there's nothing probitive there. But what Trump wants to happen is for his partisans to see that he is FIGHTING, and therefore conclude that it's not over, so that they hang on to ever-more-desperate doses of hopium.

The endgame for Powell and Giuliani is "well, at least we tried to save the republic, unlike those eeyore pansies who gave up early."

MAGAnauts will go to their graves believing Trump won but it was stolen by Dominion and by corrupt Dem judges, and by Roberts stabbing him in the back by not taking up the case and reversing the results. Sad!
