Couldn't happen to more deserving folks! The architecture firm I worked for years ago did a build-out for them and they were awful to work for, never mind their terrible politics and donations.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of a OANN/Trump partnership

Such a sad fucking statement that we have to document these rare individual instances of the GOP acknowledging quantifiable facts like they're videos of chimps doing things that humans do. Look, it's trying to think!

Some dads are not YOUR dad (Old Lunch), Thursday, 12 November 2020 15:54 (five years ago)

How long before his right-wing news network explicitly morphs into nothing more than a means of shilling steaks and ties (or whatever shitty products he's relegated to hawking post-election)?

lotta problems with BBC News but some people still doing great work. Ros Atkins put this 6-minute version together of what's going on:

There are so many questions about how senior #Republicans are responding to #Trump's refusal to concede, his insistence the election was stolen without offering evidence & his refusal to co-operate with the transition. We looked at them. Produced @nkean https://t.co/s9RO2QNbEW pic.twitter.com/wH5hbzHyva

I've seen that Dominion list circulating online. Haven't bothered to dig into it, I imagine we will immediately have a lot of debunkings that will have zero impact on the base.

Against my better judgment I went and looked at OANN's website and Twitter feed and do not see this report.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Thursday, 12 November 2020 16:47 (five years ago)

The vast majority, yes.

Some dads are not YOUR dad (Old Lunch), Thursday, 12 November 2020 16:50 (five years ago)

I would be fired from Twitter because I would be extremely tempted to code a special case for Trump's Twitter account that made the disclaimer read "This user is infamous for being a lying sack of shit."

DJP, Thursday, 12 November 2020 16:50 (five years ago)

It would be 3D chess to not investigate electronic voting vulnerabilities for the last four years in order to give Russians access to sway enough votes to Biden that the whole election could be disconnection. It's almost to the level of "So I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you."

On a positive note, Sisters of Mercy is now jamming on my mental jukebox. "Someday, someday, someday. DOMINION."

the body of a spider... (scampering alpaca), Thursday, 12 November 2020 16:52 (five years ago)

The Dominion story is so typical in that its a Republican Bizarro-world version of the actual Diebold scandals. "They went after our crooked voting machine company, so we'll say they have one too."

a man often referred to in the news media as the Duke of Saxony (tipsy mothra), Thursday, 12 November 2020 16:53 (five years ago)

Is there really any evidence of the Diebold machines changing votes though? I always thought that was a little far-fetched.

xxp That's part of the worldview: Democrats were wrong about Diebold, but it gave them ideas.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 12 November 2020 16:57 (five years ago)

I guess (and again I know this is toeing the line of both-sidesism), but I feel like there is an increasing tendency in American politics to refuse to believe that the other side could have voted the way they did, that there must be a nefarious external force leading to the result. The Democrats' versions of this seem more sophisticated and *maybe* more plausible, but at bottom there still seems to be a similar visceral rejection of the possibility that the other candidate won.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 12 November 2020 16:59 (five years ago)

To be fair, the Democratic version of this is generally fueled by Republican administrations spending the runup to Election Day changing as many rules as they can so that it's harder for stereotypically-Democratic voters to participate.

DJP, Thursday, 12 November 2020 17:01 (five years ago)

YMP, I get that you were just doing a dumbass extremely-online right-winger voice, but maybe let's not with the Michelle Obama epithet?
