FFS this is so fucking dumb and predictable

The statement was followed by a stilted laugh, so it is unclear if he was speaking in serious reference to the Trump administration’s legal challenges to the election, or in an attempt at humor.

good joke Mikey!

Biden now up by 47.5k in PA. There is no way any judge will throw out that many votes. No one on Trump's team has presented any evidence to get more than a handful of ballots tossed. They're relying on the same ol BS of dead voters, "I talked to a guy who knows a guy who saw something strange". Shit doesn't hold up in court. Hilary is gonna be in jail, big investigation into Obama spying, I'm going to show Obama birth certificate is a fake, etc etc. Dude is all talk.

My mom just texted me about Pompeo statement, asking to be talked down. We're all so traumatized by this fuck and his enablers.

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:30 (five years ago)

If these mostly GOP secretaries of state insist elections happened fairly in their states, Pompeo, McConnell, etc. can babble all they like. They're thinking of GA, not Biden.

O wau you found a ballot with a name that matches an obituary

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:33 (five years ago)

Hah, yep. Amazing how if you exclude all mail-in ballots you will also be excluding those you like, etc.

terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:39 (five years ago)

does the term selling someone a bill of goods referring to somebody selling someone the list rather than the product. Was just reminded of taht by what somebody up list was saying about thsi reporting that somebody is saying there is fraud in an election result being the news reported when the con is that its the person themselves.
Almost metatextual or something.
Like there is so much expectation of there being a further reality to what one is sold that one believes that the label itself equates to a reality. But one would be left wioth smoke and mirrors and fun things like that.

Stevolende, Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:42 (five years ago)

I'm doing my best to reassure y'all. Getting in our heads is what these fuckos do best.

Patriotic Goiter (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:43 (five years ago)

On the plus side, you'd think the GOP effort to undermine the results of legit elections might have the effect of reducing GOP turnout in GA while prompting dems to flood the polls.

OrificeMax (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:43 (five years ago)

Trump began transitioning 24 hours after he won the election.

This hurt my head for a quick second.

DJP, Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:44 (five years ago)

I'm def curious to see what impact all this has on "Trump's man in Georgia" (David Perdue) and also whether Trump gives a fuck about those elections (my guess is no, but maybe it depends whether he continues to think he has a chance). A demotivated Trump base would sure be nice in the runoffs.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:45 (five years ago)

Trump & co. arguably have less power now than they did at any point in the past four years. Yet their propensity for hardman trolling seems to be having more of an effect upon the left than it did at any point in the past four years.

I'm actually liking all these shenanigans... anything that reduces Trump to an even more disgraceful, sad & pathetic figure, a lonely old man yelling at the TV. I hope he gets hogtied to the back of a golf cart on Jan 20th.

Andy the Grasshopper, Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:52 (five years ago)

A True White Kid that can Jump (Granny Dainger), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:54 (five years ago)

Dear everyone in this thread: every time you get nervous about Trump and his cronies flapping their stupid fucking gums, send $5 to Stacey Abrams and help flip the Senate. An influx of cash in the GA runoffs will make McConnell nervous enough to nip this shit in the bud toot sweet.

OrificeMax (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 19:54 (five years ago)

FWIW, here are the dates that the big-story states certify their election results:

Georgia (Nov 20)
Pennsylvania (Nov 23)
Michigan (Nov 23)
North Carolina (Nov 24)
Arizona (Nov 30)
Wisconsin (Dec 1)
Nevada (Dec 1)

Worth noting Biden's been speaking/responding to questions these last few minutes and basically just doing the business

I would welcome such a letdown. I have better things to move on to than whatever Trump thinks, feels, demands, or suffers. Just GET OUT, already.

the unappreciated charisma of cows (Aimless), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 20:02 (five years ago)

I'm generally as nervous as nellies get, but all of the shit these fuck-os have been pulling over the past week has just made me angry. It's a dude with no gun who keeps sidling up and threatening to shoot you. Fearmongering with nothing to back it up. Just the same textbook bullying tactics we've seen at play for years now but now coming from a lame duck administration. And they seem to be working! TELL THE FASCIST COSPLAYERS TO FUCK OFF

OrificeMax (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 10 November 2020 20:02 (five years ago)

Also re Eric's list, votes have to be reported earlier than certification as well. For instance, Nevada has to finish Tuesday; the Clark County registrar said today that they may be running up against the deadline at midnight but they'll make it -- they've processed all mail votes, and it's just a matter of provisionals and cures.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 10 November 2020 20:03 (five years ago)

I'm sorry, not Tuesday, THURSDAY for Nevada, so a couple more days.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 10 November 2020 20:04 (five years ago)

Loath as I am to quote this fucker, I flagged this:

If there is a value proposition to the Biden administration, as this presser makes clear, it is that he declines at every turn to reinforce your hysteria.

henry s, Tuesday, 10 November 2020 20:11 (five years ago)

Does that Georgia certification date include the inevitable recount?

The certification date would be set by state law, so I'd say 'yes, unless the law is changed prior to Nov.20.'

In PA

New: latest Philadelphia count adds over 2k votes and Biden wins them 92%-7%, pushing his statewide PA lead past 47k.

— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) November 10, 2020

We're well out of automatic recount territory now (0.7 > 0.5), and Biden is still on track to win PA by more than double Trump's 2016 PA margin (44,292 votes).

It doesn't matter that Trump doesn't have a leg to stand on, this is still a coup attempt.

Trump has never had a leg to stand on in any of his own enterprises, since he stopped slumlording for his daddy's apartment buildings. His grand, classy real estate? Tacky bullshit. His vaunted dealmaking? Fictional. His university? Fraudulent. His mail-order steaks? Blister-packed crap. His entire football league? An incompetent shambles. His airline? Overleveraged from the start and never profitable. His film acting? Incompetent. His TV stardom? Pieced together with endless editing. He went bankrupt running casinos in Atlantic City, after being refused a casino in Sydney due to his fraudulence and organised crime connections.

All he has ever had is bluster, and the stamina to keep blustering until he reached enough marks to go along with his idiocy. He's blustering now, and as usual he's finding some people to go along with it conceptually. But for the last four years he's had a lot of people willing to actually carry out his dumbest ideas for the chance to ride alongside power for a little while; almost nobody who has the ability to leverage power is pretending to buy his shit anymore. (And those that do, like Meadows and Bossie, are dropping to the 'vid.)

Hell, even NPR referred to it as the "still disputed election" just this morning, which is irresponsible at best

NPR radio news has been carrying water for him via both-sides-ism during the entire admin. It's worse than useless as an information source.
