It's pretty amazing that milo and silby still can't see that almost no one here is excited about Biden winning so much as Trump losing and that most people simply want to spend 24-72 hours drinking from the punchbowl of schadenfreude before two leftist edgelords take a dump in it.

There's an ILX power of transference where criticism of centrists or Biden becomes criticism of... you. That doesn't come from the people doing the criticizing.

It's just blanket hostility to dissent. Even if you want to throw in something about repetition and cliches, I will once again point to a half million posts about Trump's evil over four years - repetition isn't really the problem, people with different views (that, internally, challenge yours?) are the problem.

I have a preexisting condition too. I'm for a single payer system. But I'm grateful a centrist like Obama was able to make some compromises and deliver an improvement on the Healthcare system, one that outlawed denying private health insurance based on one's health history. It's a very flawed system still, but it is better and I have hope it will lead to an even better one.

I don't think all of this is posturing, though— I actually believe everything that I wrote. I get wanting to celebrate the downfall of Trump, I was also ecstatic yesterday.

But the center's habit of undermining the people who bring them their power is really wearing thin, based on much of what I have been reading and talking about with people here, including people at the pantry where I volunteer.

The election was won in PA by Black folks in Philly. In Arizona, it was won by Navajo tribes and other Indigenous peoples. Detroit (and Michigan), same as Philly.

And yet it seems like the spoils of these wins are going to white centrists who have spent their careers not giving a fuck about these populations. That isn't posturing, it's just fact.

I don't know that that's accurate? Navajo County for instance voted for Trump.

Where are you seeing that? I was pretty shocked by the county vote going to Trump. Though Apache County which is also on the rez did go for Biden, but not at the % you're citing

Yeah not the actual Navajo nation vote, and those number don't align with what I'm seeing elsewhere. CNN map shows 26k Trump votes in Coconino alone (which has been a blue County for awhile now due to Native American plus liberal Flagstaff).

In any case your point still stands because the group I've seen commonly cited for turning AZ blue is Latino voters in the southern AZ cities

Um, the 1968 election results. Nixon by 301-191 EV, +5 GOP senate seats, +5 GOP House seats. Still worse in 1972. Nixon by 520-17 EV, +12 GOP house seats. Current BLM protests are necessary, but they do present a headwind for national or state allies who could effect positive change.

Or at least the perception of them among low-info voters.

So much hinges on these Georgia runoffs, and every vote will count. Especially the votes of people who find themselves in the middle of the political divide.

If I want to suck Twitter directly into my system, I'll join Twitter. I can see how others assuming I was somehow following AOC on Twitter would have made my response appear differently intended. That's a very unwarranted assumption, but natural enough if you live in the political Twittersphere. I can't be responsible for bad assumptions that are not revealed.

Nobody assumed you were following AOC on twitter, and following AOC on twitter would not alter anything about the way tweets by people who are not AOC embed on ILX, nor would it ensure that you see anybody who QTs her on twitter. I assume that nobody posting ITT follows AOC on twitter.

yeah they are literally protesting things democrats are jointly responsible for. even if these totally speculative complaints were supported by anything (not "um, election results," correlation is not causation), what would you have people do? people saying to defund/abolish police are not "the democratic party" to begin with. they are people who think police are doing bad things.
