The biggest problem with the shitposting is that it seems to proceed from a super condescending assumption that everybody else is somehow unaware of the glaring shortcomings of the incoming administration and/or the many systemic problems with the entire structure of our economy and society. But we actually know all that. We know all that and still think it’s a great fucking day when Donald Trump gets shown the door. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive. The leftier-than-thou shtick is tiring and feels especially tin-eared today. But you do you.

Funniest thing to me is: Someone called Four Seasons Total Landscaping and asked to organize a press conference and someone said yes. Then the crews showed up to set up stage and PA and said “Here?!” And someone said yes. Then limos full of politicos started out, and the drivers said “Here?!” And someone said yes. Because Trump has surrounded himself with yes men his entire fucking life, and this was the end result.

I don’t have too many right-wingers in my FB feed, but I’m amused to see that two of the nominally smarter ones — a lawyer and a law school prof — are going down the vote fraud rabbit hole, posting lots of numbers without context and invoking Benford’s Law. I imagine they’ll give it up in a day or two. (But will probably make noises about how “something wasn’t right there” for the rest of their lives.)
