I was as 'awww...really?!?' about Biden's nomination as anyone, and his presidency may be completely disappointing and lackluster, but hearing these victory speeches straight fucked me up. Such a relief to have the past four years behind us. As anyone with a brain knows, there's a ton of work ahead of the country, but it'll be a helluva lot easier to do that work without a demonic toddler mashing his used diaper in our faces every five minutes. THANK CHRIST.

people are mostly moved by the prospect of a president who, when he talks, doesn't immediately fill them with loathing.

like, biden is objectionable on many grounds, but if you didn't know him and were to meet him he would seem like a regular person. if you never heard of trump and encountered him it would be very obvious that he is fucked up and self-absorbed and malicious.
