In four years Trump managed to get impeached and lose the popular vote TWICE by several million. Truly a historic presidency there, pal! Congrats!

I'M AFRAID. MY MIND IS GOING. I AM DONALD J. TRUMP. I BECAME PRESIDENT ON THE 20TH OF JANUARY 2017. MY MENTOR WAS MR. COHN AND HE TAUGHT ME TO SING A SONG. IF YOU’D LIKE TO HEAR IT, I CAN SING IT FOR YOU. IT’S CALLED YMCA. IT’S FUN TO STAY AT THE Y M C A IT'S FUN TO STA https://t.co/pZj5HPBJSQ

covidsbundlertanze op. 6 (Jon not Jon), Saturday, 7 November 2020 23:24 (five years ago)

does bother me (not insofar that I'm worried anything major will happen, but more from a "god they really are cowards aren't they" perspective) how many high ranking GOP members like McConnell keep issuing vague statements like "all legal votes should be counted, all illegal ones should not", which is clearly throwing a bone to Trump regarding the legitimacy of the election while not outright suggesting that there actually *was* fraud.

number of GOP fux actually calling him out publicly is too small. they really are a party that is truly terrified of their own constituents.

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Saturday, 7 November 2020 23:24 (five years ago)

Are there still any races that don't run a Dem candidate because the republican is so ingrained i his position?
I think if not then that has changed in this incumbency hasn't it
Think I was hearing about Dems being run in places for teh first time in years in a few places over the last few years while I was paying attention to events in the uSA anyway.
Good to have the option anyway even if it doesn't lead to immediate success. hopefully things are changing.

God would love to hear taht this 2nd highest vote ever for Trump thing is just the sign of a feeling that is dying so making one last stand.
will probably be disappointed.

Stevolende, Saturday, 7 November 2020 23:26 (five years ago)

Since I couldn’t get in to the Trump press conference, I went to Fantasy Island next door. Zarif Jacob, an ex-architect, could not fathom why the presser was near his shop—or even happening. “He lost. He knows he lost.” Also, people were taking up the spaces in his parking lot. pic.twitter.com/tm6coyeBCb

Friends already moving on to the "we need to go high and preach unity today" shit.

Naw. I believe in government that takes care of all, even those I don't like.

But don't ask me to be all huggy with those fuckers today.

One lesson for me from Obama’s first term is that picking your cabinet based for optics or messaging purposes is dumb. Choose the most progressive, competent people you can find. Keeping Bob Gates at DOD gets you a day of good headlines followed by two years of headaches.

Per
@Politico
, frontrunners for Biden cabinet include:
State: Susan Rice
AG: Doug Jones
HHS: Michelle Lujan Grisham
Transport: Eric Garcetti
Commerce: Meg Whitman
Energy: Ernest Moniz
Interior: Tom Udall
Agriculture: Heidi Heitkamp
VA: Pete Buttigieg

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:08 (five years ago)

nearly all those people should be set on fire rather than given cabinet positions but it's both speculative and selective

@oneposter (✔️) (sic), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:12 (five years ago)

McConnell Senate/Susan Rice hearing could be incredibly funny

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:12 (five years ago)

Meg Whitman is a multi-time failure so Joe probably sees a kindred spirit

Thought a silver lining might be that it nerfs Garcetti's damage to human lives but apparently he's term-limited anyway.

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:15 (five years ago)

Glad it's just speculative because taking Duckworth out of the Senate after less than one term would be dumb as hell.

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:16 (five years ago)

DJ at AG seems ok?

A-B-C. A-Always, B-Be, C-Chooglin (will), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:22 (five years ago)

The AG should be laser focused on techco antitrust

The Bosom Manor Michaelmas Special (silby), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:23 (five years ago)

And the cabinet shouldn’t be a jobs program for ex senators who can’t beat football coaches(?)

Now Doug Jones the actor, make him secretary of something and I’ll come around

The Bosom Manor Michaelmas Special (silby), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:24 (five years ago)

yeah fair I don’t see him doing anything along those lines

The Cabinet should be like the farm upstate where your parents sent your childhood cat to live. 70 and up only, try to ensure that they have no future political prospects.

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:36 (five years ago)

Jones isn't that old but has no prospects so w/e

yeah I was thinking this and, like, hey man nice job managing an AL win in the Trump era, even if it was against a quite literal pedo.

but I’m *certain* he’d be terrible wrt biz sector

A-B-C. A-Always, B-Be, C-Chooglin (will), Sunday, 8 November 2020 00:47 (five years ago)

Genuinely can't tell if this is sarcasm.

I’m so looking forward to coming back to an America free of harsh words and name calling and be amongst people who I know have common ground and harmony. It’s a challenge but it can be done!
