Biden can do quite a bit of preparation without having networks call it for him. It's not like the Trump administration would suddenly start extending full cooperation if CNN, MSNBC and FOX declared Biden won. You know Trump isn't built like that and he will reject any request for cooperation for as long as possible.

It's true enough that for Trump's die hard base the media is and will be fake news, even if all they do is report that each state has certified its voting results and identified its slate of electors, so that the election is officially over. It does suck that it wasn't a landslide and the states that tabulated quickly weren't enough to put Biden over 270.

On the plus side, think of all the drinking we're doing.

So many of our current difficulties are based in structures put in place in 1789 when thirteen heterogeneous colonies eyed one another suspiciously and only came together because England could crush them singly at its leisure if they stayed separate. They mostly hated being united and chafed hard at the idea of ceding an inch of power. Hence, this mess of a nation.

Vaughn Hillyard has been good on reporting from AZ and from what he says it looks like the election there is going to be very close

Apparently Joe isn't making a victory speech, but decided to speak anyway. Hopefully he'll regale us with stories about Corn Pop or something.

He's just trying not to concede the stage entirely to Trump and his fraud/stolen election narrative. As is sensible.

He's about 7k votes shy of the ~35k recount margin in PA. For some reason I thought he was closer that that and he was about to declare victory.

I am happy Biden has found a good speechwriter (or team of them) and apparently they work together well. It's going to be an important facet of any success he has as president. Now he needs a superlative team for tweets and social media. Maybe a part time moonlighting gig for AOC?
