Trump won the latest batch of ballots (roughly 73K votes) from Maricopa by about 14%.

— Taniel (@Taniel) November 6, 2020

Per various followups, not the pace Trump needs.

Biden gains ground in Delaware Co., PA mail ballots, Trump's statewide lead falls below 50k.

The Fox Arizona call was so premature that it verges on malpractice and you have to wonder if they weren’t just like “fuck it”.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Friday, 6 November 2020 02:13 (five years ago)

i think privately they are sick of him

treeship., Friday, 6 November 2020 02:15 (five years ago)

Fox's vote projections are done by an independent agency with a good reputation, apparently, so I doubt that was it.

lukas, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:15 (five years ago)

dude who made the call was also the guy who defended the pick live on TV in 2012 with Megyn Kelly

it puts them in the precarious position of being the first to call the race for Biden

Ralph Nader complaining on Twitter about NPR not running Trump's speech, can't believe I once voted for that chucklehead

Guayaquil (eephus!), Friday, 6 November 2020 02:16 (five years ago)

don't wanna oversimplify it but I think it's because they got confused about the way AZ counts the mail ins, they probably figured them to favor Biden heavily

frogbs, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:16 (five years ago)

and yeah I'll bet that Fox's call is the reason why they haven't called NV yet, Trump is clearly toast there

frogbs, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:17 (five years ago)

yeah but did AP make the same mistake?

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Friday, 6 November 2020 02:17 (five years ago)

i bet they did lol

Give me a Chad Smith-type feel (map), Friday, 6 November 2020 02:18 (five years ago)

it's just funny to me cos without that call, I woulda gone to sleep and wet my bed, but then other good news trickled behind it

More context: big Maricopa update coming shortly, but so far today 67,767 ballots counted mostly on Trump turf, and Trump has a 57/40 margin. Trump needs all of the remaining ballots to perform at 57%, and the second half of Maricopa just isn't that friendly for him.

#BREAKING from Georgia's race for President:
Trump's lead over Biden drops to 2,497 votes.
There are at some 14,786 ballots remaining by our count.

Another Maricopa call scheduled for tomorrow morning. That and the Clark report in Nevada will be the coup de grace.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:23 (five years ago)

I still think there’s a call tonight in both PA and GA, but late.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:24 (five years ago)

pennsylvania tonight?

treeship., Friday, 6 November 2020 02:24 (five years ago)

I feel like this is a Twilight Zone ep where we keep being told moer voets, and moer voets are coming, and the voets never come, and nobody ever wins, and nobody ever loses, and we are perennially in this election forever as time becomes a loop

yeah at the pace PA is dropping them I reckon it's gonna be over sometime tonight

assuming it gets called as soon as Biden takes the lead there

I feel like this is a Twilight Zone ep where we keep being told moer voets, and moer voets are coming, and the voets never come, and nobody ever wins, and nobody ever loses, and we are perennially in this election forever as time becomes a loop

Every day they will count exactly half the remaining votes.

epistantophus, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:27 (five years ago)

A little context on GA: rather than call I’ll say lead:

Unlike Pennsylvania, Biden won't be called the winner in Georgia if he manages to take a lead. It'll be too close, with provisionals and overseas ballots still left to go and the prospect of recount

— Nate Cohn (@Nate_Cohn) November 6, 2020

Ned Raggett, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:28 (five years ago)

One of 10,000 nauseating things about Hannity: his addiction to "by the way."

clemenza, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:30 (five years ago)

Clayton County in GA due to report at midnight their time.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:30 (five years ago)

yeah GA is gonna be so razor thin that a recount might actually overturn the result

frogbs, Friday, 6 November 2020 02:32 (five years ago)

yeah but did AP make the same mistake?

Something a follower pointed out: Mishkin worked with the AP to create the Fox News Voter Analysis System, which interviewed 100k people. It’s information that only Fox and the AP have access to and they’re the only ones who have called Arizona. https://t.co/dLNmTTQsY5

a do-over election uhh might not work the way he wants it to. esp with everybody now knowing what the end result will be anyway.

what MAGA-head is gonna stand in like 3 hours when they know Trump is likely gonna lose with or without PA and there's a David Allen Coe drive-in show that same night

It's tricky to figure out the time difference by searching for "midnight Georgia".

Wow eephus, I have a pretty long list of "people I don't want to hear from right now."

It had not occurred to me (until now) that Ralph Nader should be on the list.

Bravo. Golf clap.

Don’t bother hitting refresh on Georgia. It’s probably won’t get called tonight even when biden takes the lead, which he will.

If it does then it will be fox again haha

still a bunch of military votes to be counted in GA, right? anyone know how those might break?
