the important thing to remember about natalie morales is that she was great in 'the middleman' and that they should bring that show back (tho it won't be the same without the late great mary pat gleason)

la table sur la table (voodoo chili), Thursday, 5 November 2020 18:57 (five years ago)

what the hell that IS the same Natalie Morales!??

Fox still not rolling back on their Biden count, is that some sort of snub I wonder, Murdoch pissed off at getting angry phone calls? Curious to see what happens when Biden wins his next state.

Stepping back a bit to a point raised way upthread -- there was some speculation that the optics of the Georgia runoffs may put Perdue/Loeffler more on the spot (either way) if there's some actual lame duck action on COVID relief. Perhaps but I'll at least add this interesting point: Kelly, having defeated McSally in Arizona, is due to take office at the end of November thanks to the slight quirks surrounding the seat, which was originally opened up by McCain's death and later Ducey putting McSally in after she lost to Sinema in 2018. That changes the Senate balance to a de facto 52-48, which will stay that way in the new year once Gardner and Jones are swapped out for Hickenlooper and Tuberville. Nothing may happen at all, but given the runoff election date of January 5th, it could make for an interesting few weeks there.

whatever the final tally, a small price to pay for such a winning campaign

For Trump to win Pennsylvania, the Secretary of State would have to be very, very wrong about how many mail ballots aren't included in the current results tally https://t.co/nRGDxTiC2l

reggie (qualmsley), Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:05 (five years ago)

Just did some back-of-the-envelope math, and it seems like Biden would only need about 60% of the remaining PA vote.

jaymc, Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:05 (five years ago)

Just got off call w/ conservative movement heads. Lots of talk of "stealing," election schemes, lack of transparency etc. When I pressed for examples, all I heard was windows being covered up in Atlanta to prevent monitors from watching the count. Anyone know what this refers to?

It looks increasingly like the USA has just elected the first woman and the first POC to the vice presidency. And nobody seems to be noticing, yet.

Clark County Nevada will release next batch of votes Friday ~noon EST.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:07 (five years ago)

Hold onto yourselves, I know this will be a shocker...

Trump and aides have had discussions about mounting a comeback run in 2024 should he lose reelection to Biden, an adviser tells me. No word whether he would do it. But the subject has come up, I'm told.

@oneposter(✔️) (Karl Malone), Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:08 (five years ago)

Atlanta? There was an incident yesterday where they put up some pizza boxes inside a Detroit counting area's windows because 'protestors' were rapping on them and shouting, but other than that.

Nah. Huntergate is nothing either. Something else will come up.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:09 (five years ago)

yeah, the #electionfraud movement seems to lack any sort of coherent, central lie

@oneposter(✔️) (Karl Malone), Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:10 (five years ago)

Trump trying for a comeback when people like Haley, Cottom, Roem etc are already testing the waters would be...interesting.

Oh, Biden's getting impeached over Huntergate/Burisma/anything if the House flips in 2022.

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:11 (five years ago)

Every Democratic President with a GOP House will be impeached from now until the country is a pile of ashes.

I fully expect Trump to go full-on LaRouche and perpetually run for re-election.

A beautiful sight

just watched a michigan court throw out a ridiculous trump suit. Here was the face trump's lawyer made when the judge announced she was tossing the whole thing pic.twitter.com/08lHwsCHLi

— mo (@mo87mo87) November 5, 2020

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:24 (five years ago)

Such skill

the only problems with trump's suit, according to the judge, is that it was based on hearsay, brought the wrong party to court, couldn't give names of any of the ppl or locations they said broke the law and the relief sought is unavailable because the counting is over.

— mo (@mo87mo87) November 5, 2020

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 5 November 2020 19:24 (five years ago)

A few xps but I am faintly amused by the prospect of a 77-year-old Trump seen by GOPers as a kingmaker and elder statesman.

Prospective candidates like yr Pence, Haley, Noem, et al. have to go and bend the knee and ask for his blessing.

He will (like Teddy R.) determine that none of the aspirants have what it takes. So he will cast off his laprobe and toss down his ear-trumpet and say, "by golly, if none of you pansies have the guts to do what needs to be done, I'll do it myself!" And he will run his own rogue third-party write-in campaign.

It could be like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull but with Donald Trump Jr in place of Shia LeBeouf.

Didn't they do a trial run for that when he auditioned his cabinet? Even remember Romney taking part.
