Tina Smith retained her MN Senate seat over ex right wing radio guy Jason Lewis who I assure is an incredible piece of shit

I was thinking of AOC and the squad's eventual persuasion of the Democratic center in regards to the public, because they still need to come around

Democratic voters are already well to the left of Democratic politicians. Persuading the public appears to have a negligible effect on then persuading the people who throw $10k per plate fundraisers.

You either beat the centrists in primaries or organize enough people to potentially cost them their seats in the general election. Either way, political change is won through force, not being good and loyal.

I was worried about Tina Smith, it took longer to call for her than MN. And yes, Jason Lewis is a chode but incredibly popular with goatee/Tommy Bahama exurban douches.

The other thing about Smith-Lewis is it was one of the rare races last night when polling errors went in the Dems' direction, it seems.

would be curious to see if there's any correlation with uptick in white women (and maybe Hispanic women?) and the Q madness. listening to the QAnon Anonymous pod a good bit lately and it certainly appears to have started reaching beyond Maga/evangelical/conspiracy-prone types.

The 9pm vote dump in Maricopa is 43,966 Trump votes, 30,322 Biden votes. That tightens Arizona to Biden 51.8%, Trump 46.8%. However, that kind of 59-41 split for Trump isn't gonna cut it.

Tonight's vote dump in Maricopa was Trump+18, which confirms that the state's going to get a lot tighter. It's not very easy to say whether that's enough for Trump or not, but I'd think it's more than enough to preclude an Arizona call tonight

It's hard to game out exactly where we're heading in Arizona. It both depends on how many ballots are left and what kind of ballots, and neither is exactly clear. The most important takeaway here: Pennsylvania wrapping up its count is the path to a quick call

Another 1,800 or so votes counted in GA, of which Biden wins 71%. He's tracking just above where needs to be in the remaining votes to win narrowly.

Dems seem to be pretty confident that PA is gonna wind up 80k or so in Biden's favor, so none of this will likely matter

really hard to tell with AZ right now, b/c there are also still outstanding votes in Pima (a heavy Dem county), though I don't know how much (I've heard 40k and 90k). also some amount in rural AZ.
