xp -- do you have a source on NC being as similar to the Midwest as Florida? having grown up there, that seems unlikely

They both have barbecue

xp yes on Cori Bush. that will be a bright spot for tonight no matter what

@sic_bot (✔️) (Karl Malone), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 02:36 (five years ago)

NC has the Outer Banks, the Midwest also has banks.

Not loving the early numbers from AP on Wisconsin and Michigan but, as with everything tonight, no idea where those numbers are coming from yet.

On average, this critic grades 8.3 points lower than other critics (Eric H.), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 02:39 (five years ago)

NC has Petey Pablo
Midwest has Tech N9ne

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 02:40 (five years ago)

Early numbers from Wisconsin are just gonna be in-person numbers, in no way representative.

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 02:42 (five years ago)

no, for a seat in the US Congress!

Dan S, Wednesday, 4 November 2020 02:44 (five years ago)

those 300,000 votes ballots that USPS couldn't seem to process on time, for mysterious reasons, seem more and more important as the night wears on

I've been looking a bit at Johnson County, KS (wealthy KC suburbs) where Biden is +8 with 98 percent reported. Trump won it by +3 in 2016. If that Johnson Co. result is as complete as claimed, would be a good sign for Biden in other Midwestern suburbs.

My state has legal weed now, it seems. If I smoked, or enjoyed the company of potheads, I bet I'd be happy about that.

but also fuck you (unperson), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 02:54 (five years ago)

weed can be gotten illegally, a functioning country can't

tbf this country legalized revolutions in the bill of rights, the only complication is that you have to win

CNN calling Minnesota a key battleground state, is it really? I was always under the impression it was solid blue.

Van Horn Street, Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:04 (five years ago)

i'm still grappling with the fact that yes, this is going to take weeks

@sic_bot (✔️) (Karl Malone), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:04 (five years ago)

Biden up by 13pt in AZ, but that's the early/mail stuff again (The Guardian says 60% in), and we keep getting burned by that. Wafer-thin lead in NC now, behind in OH.

Michael Jones, Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:05 (five years ago)

Ohio and Texas got bleak real quick.

la table sur la table (voodoo chili), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:06 (five years ago)

Good reminder. The ease of the Florida win aside, we really have no surprising results so far. Which gives me hope.

I feel you on this, I'm in the same boat but with Georgia

real muthaphuckkin jeez (crüt), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:09 (five years ago)

Feels like every one of these death-knell-for-Trump states follows the same pattern: Biden jumps out to an early lead, sometimes large, slowly whittles away to nothing. I know that has to do with what ballots are counted first, but it's dispiriting.

clemenza, Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:09 (five years ago)

Reminder that if Biden wins Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan (but not PA) then there’s a real possibility of a tie.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:09 (five years ago)

we really have no surprising results so far.

Indiana was polling as a "narrow-win" for Trump. It's an absolute bloodbath.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:10 (five years ago)

OK I confess I hadn't paid much attention to Indiana

Alba, Wednesday, 4 November 2020 03:10 (five years ago)

Which is a Biden win assuming everyone follows the rules
