The CNN coverage of the Florida situation is terrible; they keep emphasizing how close the statewide vote count is while ignoring the fact that none of the Panhandle is in yet. Biden’s done there.

Florida is a weird state. We shouldn't write off the inference from between-state correlations, but in fully-reporting counties from the other states, I'm seeing a 3 point average shift toward Biden. Seems important to note re: the Midwest.

I never counted Florida in the win county, as I've said repeatedly. The only genuine surprise is the extent of Democratic erosion in MDC. But we were here in 2018 too.

Yeah my hope is that there really was a massive blue wave in 2018 and it manifested itself everywhere by Florida

Honestly it made me so angry that I would get like 20 emails a day for McGrath, a candidate with nothing to recommend her running in a solid red state against an entrenched candidate that we don’t even need to beat. I just kept thinking about all the money getting sucked up that could have gone to close races.

Much as we hate Senator Mitch McConnell, his win was never really in doubt since McGrath clocked in as his opponent. Booker would have lost, too, but would have at least ignited some enthusiasm among younger Democrats.

I just don't want it to come down to Pennsylvania and god knows what kind of prolonged agony.

Texas and Ohio are looking great for Biden but not sure if it's because the rural vote comes later in those states.

Prolonged agony is our lot in life as Americans.

Okay I've found a clickable 2016 county map, and in the TX counties I've checked where a large majority of expected votes have been counted according to the Bloomberg graphic, the shift seems to be pretty universally in the Dem direction. Not to get anyone's hopes up or anything, but it does seem somewhat positive.

(In FL it wasn't quite as clear, but the only massive outlier that had moved significantly the other way was Miami-Dade.)
