How many states have Kanye and other (libertarian, green, independent?) candidates on the ballot? It's definitely a shame that the endless attention void of the President has stopped us learning about and laughing at whatever mutant replaced Gary Johnson after the party rejected him for thinking seatbelts were okay.

(legitimately so! I've voted early for convenience sake around work {eg working at the polls} or travel, and voted in person despite inconvenience because it's irrationally satisfying to do so. it's not implausible that less-educated voters are more likely to also stick to on-day voting out of familiarity or resentment/mistrust of change.)

The only time I voted in person on election day was 2008 and I got frisked by McCain’s secret service detail just after (my office was on the same block as his phx residence)

Voted for Nader on Election Day 2000 and got to use a marker to fill in an arrow, the last time I got to physically select my candidates.

xxxp Gore lost Texas by 15-20% so that was my first experience with people pretending the Electoral College doesn't exist and that a vote for Nader was a vote for Bush.

I did the Nader Trader thing in 2000, swapped w somebody in what state I can’t recall.

If I could have voted- I was 15- I would have voted for Nader. No qualms about that.

yeah I regret not voting for Gore (in Tennessee!!) in ‘00. I remember being p much uninterested in him, not yet sold on “The Left”/ Naderism, and harboring no real animus towards Bush. boy howdy did that change fucking fast.

i think it's worth remembering that sometimes we make mistakes in being too cynical, too. for example, i think quite a few people were wrong about texas this year and made a point of telling everyone that there was no chance and it was ridiculous to even think about

(I was thinking a couple of weeks ago that it would be good to have a bot post every 20 or so posts reminding us that we love each other and want the same outcome.
