Started watching The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence last night, had never seen that one before.

it's a cracker!

This may sound potentially doofy and I wondered if I should post it but I have only hung out with WFMU folks a small number of times (never lived in NY/NJ), and one of them was at a barbecue where Pseu Braun was in attendance with a guest I only vaguely remember as being kinda quiet, but who maybe looked like Bill. Obviously it could have been anyone and I'll probably never know for sure, but would be strange if I was in the company of Dr. Morbius and didn't realize it.

Think that sounds like him.

James should convince Pseu to post here for a quick AMA.

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Friday, 30 October 2020 15:44 (five years ago)

Heh, I don’t know Pseu. I am more familiar with some of the other DJs.

This tweet instantly made me think of Morbs.

I’m loving the Marvel Moviefication of politics 😎 https://t.co/AJcM6W90kT

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence is high in the running for best western film of all time. It puts Shane to shame.

Let's talk about Morbs' answering machine.

1) picks up on the second ring
2) does he screen his calls
3) sounds like the tape is about to wear through
4) wouldn't have some many hang ups if it rang longer

It's been many years since I've seen Shane, but fresh off my first viewing of Liberty Valance and I have to agree. It was terrific and I don't know how I avoided seeing it for so long.

Let's win one for the Gipper. Or, you know, something closer to winning than losing.

regardless of the historic repercussions i am short term more bummed that our good doctor didn't get closure on this election than i am about the timing of RBG (RIP!) passing on

Spoiler: He would not have been thrilled by a Biden win.

Literally the one not terrible thing about him being gone.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 3 November 2020 23:48 (five years ago)

But I'd still rather have him around to complain about Biden.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 3 November 2020 23:49 (five years ago)

Remember in '12 when Dan secretly donated to Obama everytime Morbs criticized Barry?

That was cool.

Morbs and I sure had our differences, but not on this. And I miss him dearly not hammering the following home: no one should be "thrilled" by a Biden win. Biden's merely 'not Trump'. Now let's hope 'not Trump' beats 'is Trump', but shit man, USA has got so much shit to sort out, a single 'not Trump' term is not going to cut it.

he was consistently disappointed by the two-party system that’s for sure. never accepted the compromises entailed - beyond the point where most people would just throw up their hands and hold their noses - WELL beyond

To quote Hadrian, word ^^
