Meantime, a bunch of useless people like Benny Johnson and Jenna Ellis and the like are currently Mad On Twitter because Tucker Carlson did a Tony Bobulinski featured hour or something and literally nobody gave a shit. Seriously, they're posting stuff like this.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:33 (five years ago)

If that youth vote is really 2:1 in Biden's favor then the polling error would seem to be in Biden's favor this year... seems like more people would be talking about it, though?

thousand-yard spiral stairs (f. hazel), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:33 (five years ago)

A number of people are, increasingly; Wasserman has mentioned potential polling errors favoring Biden a few times.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:34 (five years ago)

As for lame Hunter Biden attempts

Per pool reporter @EliStokols, at the Trump rally tonight, the WiFi network was called “Where is Hunter?” and the password was “10FORTHEBIGGUY."

It was "largely non-functioning"

— Ben Jacobs (@Bencjacobs) October 28, 2020

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:35 (five years ago)

remember the polling errors were in Obama's favor in 2012 which is why it was so easy to forecast that race (and why Nate got all 50 states right)

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:35 (five years ago)

Don't really understand how lefties can be upset that @ProjectLincoln is starting a media company unless they

a)felt the same way about @PodSaveAmerica/@crookedmedia or Young Turks or...

b)changed their mind about need for a conservative but responsible alternative to Fox News?

— Clara Jeffery (@ClaraJeffery) October 27, 2020

God she's embarrassing

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:40 (five years ago)

Who could have missed the lefties crying out for a responsible conservative news outlet?

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:40 (five years ago)

pretty sure they already get CNN

frogbs, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:41 (five years ago)

if you're so tolerant, why won't you just adopt the beliefs you hate

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:46 (five years ago)

Liberals won't even consider sponsoring a conservative Presidential candidate I say I say what is going on here

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:47 (five years ago)

funny how people still call CNN "Clinton News Network" considering all the water they carried for Dubya between 2001 - 2004

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 02:47 (five years ago)

You gotta have CNN be the liberal Fox News to establish a Both Sides: News Media Edition

I know a lot of wishy-washy "fair and balanced" liberals who were even pushing the narrative - "c'mon guys we have to admit CNN is our own Fox News", as if the equivalent of a state-run media that has a destructive sphere of influence that has a direct line to the President and can destroy lives is in any way comparable a mediocre, corporate-choked media conglomerate that is likely to occasionally carry water for conservatives unwittingly (and wittingly).

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:26 (five years ago)

yeah our equivalent of Tucker is like, Seth Myers

frogbs, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:27 (five years ago)

really wish we could have a progressive liberal news media network with actual teeth and acid tongue programming but many wishy washy Democrats would probably shit on it

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:29 (five years ago)

**ck yes, Urias

frogbs, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:34 (five years ago)

I really hate CNN, I can't watch it for more than a couple of minutes at a time now, all of the both-sides screaming matches they set up between political 'opponents' are awful, it makes me cringe and it is not in any way illuminating

I'm also over MSNBC, it's more sane than CNN but it has the exact same news opinion coverage every single day. I'm on their side, I get it, but come on, how much of that same shit do you think we want to watch

Dan S, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:37 (five years ago)

have they ever been subject to such an unlikeable, suffocating figure??

idk I think Biden's about as bad as a lot of past Dem candidates

it bangs for thee (Simon H.), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:40 (five years ago)

@ Dan S., my one bit of thankfulness re: being COVID-separated from my folks is not having to endure my dad's constant CNN and FOX watching. intolerable.

broadcast news is evil

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:43 (five years ago)

that's my hot take of the day

24 hour news networks obv a very specific vortexing of that evil but the rot is built in

mellon collie and the infinite bradness (BradNelson), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:44 (five years ago)

With 54,000 in-person votes so far today, Harris County has now exceeded total turnout for the 2012 election, which was 1.2 million. #HarrisVotes #HouNews #VOTE

— Harris County Clerk (@HarrisVotes) October 27, 2020

This seems noteworthy. There are still three full days left of early voting, plus election day. Harris is the biggest metro in Texas, but it's not the only one. I wonder if the numbers in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio are similar.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:53 (five years ago)

how much of that same shit do you think we want to watch

all of it. all of the same shit, we want to watch it

error prone wolf syndicate (Hadrian VIII), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:53 (five years ago)

the beauty of the internet = the ability to pick and choose the news I read and where I get it from, having the shit excreted out of a tv set seems superfluous

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:55 (five years ago)

it's like we're in Videodrome

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 03:55 (five years ago)

at least Videodrome ended

I did used to love using those remote control apps to discreetly change the channel from Fox News every time I got my car repaired at the local CarMax, who inexplicably always had it on.

people would look around confused, then realize they were happy it wasn't on anymore.

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 04:09 (five years ago)

I wonder if the numbers in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio are similar.

They are. And don't forget El Paso... only ~400k voters but like Austin, deep blue (+50 Dem lean). Nobody is racking up as many early voters as Harris County in Texas, as noted upthread it's the because since 2018 the County Clerk is now a Democrat and is actively helping people vote instead of hindering them. Thank Beto for that. Travis County (Austin) early voting will match their *total* 2016 vote sometime tomorrow.

Iconic Cuban-American author and unimpeachable anti-Communist intellectual, @CarlosAMontaner emphatically announces in this powerful ad, that far from being ‘socialists,’ @JoeBiden + @KamalaHarris are the true friends of freedom, liberty and democracy. #CubanosConBiden🇨🇺🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/GSsmNzkRsy

Meanwhile, in the world of animated gristle.

So @kennedynation interviewed Rudy Giuliani tonight on FBN. The whole interview is here:https://t.co/s3T3gDkLXI

Here's a clip from that interview.

thousand-yard spiral stairs (f. hazel), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 04:51 (five years ago)

Also, it seems like Trump bussed a few thousand people to an airport outside Omaha for a rally and then didn't bother to arrange for busses back and there are all these old people standing out in the freezing cold a three mile walk from their cars

Guayaquil (eephus!), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 04:52 (five years ago)

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 04:59 (five years ago)

two more clips of Kennedy / Giuliani in the thread, if ppl enjoy that first.

Un-fooled and placid (sic), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 05:02 (five years ago)

Kennedy is such a loser.

"Nixon now! Nixon now!"

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 05:06 (five years ago)

"The irony was that we were deep in Gen X land where rebellion was the most popular flavor," Kennedy’s former boss Lauren Levine recalls in the book. "And being a Republican was the ultimate rebellion, as most, if not all, were left leaning."

lol that's...an interesting way to frame it

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 05:07 (five years ago)

But Kennedy really made the gossip columns because of the way she greeted a fellow Republican. "Finally out of the corner of my eye I spied a f---ing rock star real star,” she wrote. “ John McLaughlin was looking and I knew another headset was bound to intercept if I didn’t act fast, and I had to prove to him he was not the only Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) in the room.”

LON

Neanderthal, Wednesday, 28 October 2020 05:08 (five years ago)

Kennedy marched up to the “McLaughlin Group” host and Martha Stewart, McLaughlin’s date for the evening. “I instinctively hiked up my dress, half pulled down my red thong, wangled free of my red opaque satin Donna Karan hose (She was there too! Hi Donna!) and showed him my faithful pink GOP elephant tattoo on my pristine pelvis, which I’ll have you know is a hard spot to show off in confining evening wear,” she said. “He about spit out his mint julep all over Martha’s melons.”

The two became fast friends.

In the end, the meeting didn't improve the evening. “This huge night came to a solitary end, and I realized, as a choked on my tears, liberals are almost worse than loneliness,” Kennedy remembered.

Lover of Nixon (or LON for short) (Neanderthal), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 05:10 (five years ago)

She was first introduced to libertarianism when Kurt Loder suggested she read Ayn Rand's Introduction to Objectivist Epistemology.[34] She actively supported Gary Johnson in both the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections.[35]

In March 2012, Reason published an article by Kennedy saying atheism is a religion on par with theistic religions.[36]

Election Day turnout in El Paso is going to be tiny. They’re under curfew with field hospitals.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 05:49 (five years ago)

They've still managed to notch up about 200k early votes!

thousand-yard spiral stairs (f. hazel), Wednesday, 28 October 2020 06:05 (five years ago)

yup, but if people in el paso can't vote on election day that means fewer democratic votes in texas.

.@hamiltonnolan wrote a really good piece about how trump's rallies are "inevitably held at the airport, allowing him to exit Air Force One, hold forth to the adoring crowd, and then fly right out" - in this case with potentially deadly results https://t.co/m2BFN7HFdY https://t.co/HBqIVEEEfK
