This is the most classic thread on any messageboard, ever. If ILX should spontaneously combust at some point, it should be this thread that is thrown from the blazing wreckage. Gear - I salute you.

Is there any way that this thread can be restored with all the original images?

I had a feeling this thread would be revived soon, but NOT because it was nearing its birthday!

Puffy Angie Harmon has enriched us all.

Big Willy and the Twins (miloaukerman), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:59 (twenty years ago)

I can't be alone in thinking the HIGH COMEDY of the original event has been, frankly, anally-violated by a million internet lamers referencing at any opportunity. It's like the ILX equivalent of the Star Wars kid or something.

if jaymc says it's white, i see no reason to believe you over him over the state of your own couch, mister.

I drove through L.A. last night with my soon-to-be roommate, and she was blasting DCFC the whole time (with some Postal Service for good measure).
I'm going to be in hell, I think.

I too must post in this thread, in the hope that somehow, some of it's gilded awesomeness will rub off on me, thus enriching me as a person.

This thread has made my day.

SeekAltRoute, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 03:54 (nineteen years ago)

i knew this would be a gear thread

deeznuts, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 03:58 (nineteen years ago)

C J, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 07:43 (nineteen years ago)

"indie twinkage" & "seriously guys my roomie would get plugged by anything with two legs, mesh, and foam"

hall of famers, no question.

will, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 14:11 (nineteen years ago)

Did we ever talk more about the trucker hat? My mind is still boggled by the thought that he took time out to put it back on his head after the rush to get undressed for the indie sexin'. Is he like one of those cowboys who doesn't do anything without his hat? Did she insist upon him putting it back on to cover up a bald spot?

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:32 (nineteen years ago)

Maybe he was wearing a button-up shirt?

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:48 (nineteen years ago)

Dude probably had a button-up shirt that matched the hat.

C. Grisso/McCain, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

or perhaps a leather jacket.

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 19:01 (nineteen years ago)

did gear ever admit that he just made the whole thing up?

jhøshea, Tuesday, 8 May 2007 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

I thought about the button up shirt thing, but still.. if I've ever really heavy making out with someone - the hat is the first thing to go since the bill gets in the way.

And surely he'd have some sort of t-shirt under any jacket. I guess I just like thinking that it was by choice to leave just that on.
