I can't even slag them off any more now we have another impressive Bielsa protegee leading a quiet revolution at our club, with Bielsa turning up at games when he can, and us signing impressive Spanish players that would probably ended up at Leeds if they hadn't gone up this season. It hurts me to say it, but I do like Leeds Utd under Bielsa,

calzino, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 00:19 (five years ago)

After the two years of shit I've just witnessed I'll take being a Leeds Utd b-side (still with some residual German dna from the Wagner era) if performances continue to improve as they have done recently.

calzino, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 00:20 (five years ago)

You lads could maybe use a Wolves thread

This thread turning into a wolves thread > this thread being a spurs thread

Agreed but I doubt even during peak spurs a drab 1-0 on a Monday night could've generated 70+ posts. V impressive

keep it here lads

It's like you've already forgotten what Deems was like in full flow.

Thought it was a pretty absorbing game tbh, not at the level of the madness we've seen lately but there was some decent football in a finely balanced game between two emerging sides with highly technical managers. Admittedly I had some significant fantasy league skin in the game but also for real it's on a Monday night in the middle of a pandemic and the football has been a bright spot and an immensely fun distraction.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 08:45 (five years ago)

Likewise it was a strong night for my fantasy team too, which is what I'm concentrating on after a harrowing Saturday of irl football

or something, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 09:20 (five years ago)

it was one of those games where there wasn't enough happening to stop me posting tbh

at least you lot have something more to say than "we lost and Solskjaer hasn't a clue why" or "we won and Solskjaer hasn't a clue why"

thomasintrouble, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 10:20 (five years ago)

Ordinary people talking about fantasy football is one thing.

But BBC commentators and pundits constantly talking about it, during coverage of actual football - dreadful.

the pinefox, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 10:54 (five years ago)

It is always dreadful in all circumstances and I'm so glad that my relentless bullying put a stop to it on here

Chip-vill-A (imago), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 10:59 (five years ago)

I made a player who was in a notably good run of form my "triple captain", but they then missed a penalty or failed to achieve anything of note during the relevant game - how could this have happened?

Furthermore, I bet a moderate some of money on a particular outcome of a match. The outcome was at one point possible, but then changed due to one or more events in the game and I did not win any money

Let me tell you about these dreams I've been having-

Am I the only ilx footy kru member still completely put off by the sound effects? Haven't been able to even half enjoy a match this rona-period. I just can't.

Ilxor in the streets, Scampo in the sheets (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 11:44 (five years ago)

was watching on NBC last night and the sound effects either weren't there or were really muted. still think it's worse with no white noise at all tbh

Notes on "Scamp" (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 11:49 (five years ago)

BT have been showing all the games on one of their other channels sans crowd noise xp

It's quite good as you can hear all the players/managers swearing at each other all game

groovypanda, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 11:56 (five years ago)

I don't get how the fake crowd noise in a visibly empty stadium is any less uncanny than just being able to hear what's really happening

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 12:21 (five years ago)

they should just pipe through Google's microphone-snooping feed of every illegal streamer as they munch on prawn crackers and occasionally swear

Chip-vill-A (imago), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 12:57 (five years ago)

The fake noise is dire and ridiculous.

the pinefox, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 13:33 (five years ago)

I'm in favour of the crowd noise but they should probably consider adding canned laughter this season

Number None, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 13:43 (five years ago)

just add Henny Youngman routines to Fulham's matches

eat my room temperature ass (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 13:45 (five years ago)

Yakety-sax on repeat, idc. I just can't get over thinking "wow, someone's actually choosing to play the sound of the home crowd whistling in fury because of a supposed dive by someone from the visitors... does that make sense or is the one guy controlling the audio just trolling rn?" Not particularly helpful thoughts when trying to enjoy a match tbh. It's probably me.

Ilxor in the streets, Scampo in the sheets (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 13:49 (five years ago)

best job in the world tbh

Number None, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 13:56 (five years ago)

every manager ever - players are being asked to play too many games

owners - let's have some more midweek games in the weeks when no CL and a play off at the end of the season

fifa - we'll run it seeing as we're masters of probity

oscar bravo, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 14:00 (five years ago)

also can i just lol at chelsea naming petr cech in their 25 man prem squad. with vvd out lfc might as well name lawro.

oscar bravo, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 18:30 (five years ago)

The EA FIFA in game oohs and ahs seem more convincing and better timed. There must be a way to hook up the game to real time football feeds.

Maybe replace all the banners with green screen as well and have a proper fake crowd with pies and phones and and guys waving to the screen instead of the camera.

here we go, ten in a rona (onimo), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 18:53 (five years ago)

Cech even now probably an upgrade on Kepa.

Southgate to stride out at full-time and officially hand Grealish's squad place to Bamford, in the form of a belt

imago, Friday, 23 October 2020 20:51 (five years ago)

I don't think Southgate could safely enter B6 without a load of feral men who think Grealish is their son instinctively swarming to tear him limb from limb

Leeds tonight had 26 passes that were successfully received inside the penalty area. To put into context, Chelsea have had 60 of those in their first five games. pic.twitter.com/CirinIeEiX

As far as I can tell, despite six goals already this season, literally no one has any idea whether Patrick Bamford is a good player or not.

Matt DC, Saturday, 24 October 2020 08:19 (five years ago)

Bamfordowski certainly was good last night. Strikers mature and finishing is usually the last thing to stick.

utd-chelsea with theworst opening 15 mins this season. truly dire fare.

Terrible match so far.
