Jimenez with the ball at his feet surrounded by defenders is truly a joy to watch.

lol only joking, wasteman

Notes on "Scamp" (Noodle Vague), Monday, 19 October 2020 20:56 (five years ago)

i don't think we've played 30 minutes of good football so far this season but we're sixth and a point behind Liverpool, i'll take it

Notes on "Scamp" (Noodle Vague), Monday, 19 October 2020 20:57 (five years ago)

haven't found their footing yet but doing a heck of a lot better points-wise than they were last year at this point, so....

I'll take.

lol xposts

Very Leeds-like performance from Wolves there, almost like they out-Leedsed Leeds. Bielsa will allow himself a wry smile at the student becoming the master, even if momentarily. It's quite sweet really, you would almost say you respect it. If that contributes towards Wolves finishing within ten or so points of Leeds they can certainly say they've had a good season

we're just happy to make up the numbers, y'know, it means nothing until we've got those 40 points in the bag

Notes on "Scamp" (Noodle Vague), Monday, 19 October 2020 21:06 (five years ago)

impossible to say how good either of these sides are

Both top half I reckon, Leeds lost but still looked considerably better than, say, Southampton and they appear to have half decent squad depth as well.

Altho I am of course an aficionado of dirty leeds as long as bielsa is at the helm

I can't even slag them off any more now we have another impressive Bielsa protegee leading a quiet revolution at our club, with Bielsa turning up at games when he can, and us signing impressive Spanish players that would probably ended up at Leeds if they hadn't gone up this season. It hurts me to say it, but I do like Leeds Utd under Bielsa,

calzino, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 00:19 (five years ago)

After the two years of shit I've just witnessed I'll take being a Leeds Utd b-side (still with some residual German dna from the Wagner era) if performances continue to improve as they have done recently.

Agreed but I doubt even during peak spurs a drab 1-0 on a Monday night could've generated 70+ posts. V impressive

ILF is a ghost ship

keep it here lads

It's like you've already forgotten what Deems was like in full flow.

Thought it was a pretty absorbing game tbh, not at the level of the madness we've seen lately but there was some decent football in a finely balanced game between two emerging sides with highly technical managers. Admittedly I had some significant fantasy league skin in the game but also for real it's on a Monday night in the middle of a pandemic and the football has been a bright spot and an immensely fun distraction.

Matt DC, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 08:45 (five years ago)

Likewise it was a strong night for my fantasy team too, which is what I'm concentrating on after a harrowing Saturday of irl football

or something, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 09:20 (five years ago)

it was one of those games where there wasn't enough happening to stop me posting tbh

Notes on "Scamp" (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 09:24 (five years ago)

Lol

or something, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 09:26 (five years ago)

at least you lot have something more to say than "we lost and Solskjaer hasn't a clue why" or "we won and Solskjaer hasn't a clue why"

thomasintrouble, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 10:20 (five years ago)

Ordinary people talking about fantasy football is one thing.

But BBC commentators and pundits constantly talking about it, during coverage of actual football - dreadful.

the pinefox, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 10:54 (five years ago)

It is always dreadful in all circumstances and I'm so glad that my relentless bullying put a stop to it on here

Chip-vill-A (imago), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 10:59 (five years ago)

I made a player who was in a notably good run of form my "triple captain", but they then missed a penalty or failed to achieve anything of note during the relevant game - how could this have happened?

Furthermore, I bet a moderate some of money on a particular outcome of a match. The outcome was at one point possible, but then changed due to one or more events in the game and I did not win any money

Let me tell you about these dreams I've been having-

hiroyoshi tins in (Sgt. Biscuits), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 11:11 (five years ago)

Am I the only ilx footy kru member still completely put off by the sound effects? Haven't been able to even half enjoy a match this rona-period. I just can't.

Ilxor in the streets, Scampo in the sheets (Le Bateau Ivre), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 11:44 (five years ago)

was watching on NBC last night and the sound effects either weren't there or were really muted. still think it's worse with no white noise at all tbh

Notes on "Scamp" (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 20 October 2020 11:49 (five years ago)

BT have been showing all the games on one of their other channels sans crowd noise xp

It's quite good as you can hear all the players/managers swearing at each other all game

groovypanda, Tuesday, 20 October 2020 11:56 (five years ago)

I don't get how the fake crowd noise in a visibly empty stadium is any less uncanny than just being able to hear what's really happening
